I/H/E/+Piggyback on Automatic

I've searched through threads and found little pieces of what I'm looking for but not the complete picture. My question is: What 0-60 and 1/4 times and hp/tq numbers would you get with an automatic setup that had intake/headers/exhaust with the road///race piggyback? Does anybody here have that same configuration?

For intake the RMR short ram looks good for me. I'd love a CAI but I have an auto. With headers, RPW seems the most promising. As for exhaust I am not too sure just yet. These brands seem to offer the most power from general consensus.

Using some dummy math, the I/H/E together would put about 20 hp altogether right? A stock auto is putting about 100 whp down? Or a little less? If you figure 120 whp plus the 10-15% increase (adding 12-18 hp) I'd be getting 132-140 whp? Or is that a little too high?

[edit: I probably only have about 90 whp stock right? The 100 would be for a manual, right? So bump down the total to 122-130]

And to the the posters who are already typing in "just get the non ic kit!!!!!!" let me point out three things 1) I dont have the 3000 and won't any time soon. 2) I don't need all that power and 3) getting a turbo requires more maintenence/repair let alone puts wear and tear on the engine and I don't think I have the mechanic skills to handle it.

Thanks

The piggy is a great option if your not going turbo. I have one and the 10-15% gain feels alot more than you'd expect. Your numers are about right. This is the best bang for the buck. I'm selling mine because my plans have changed. I'd like to get $340 since there is no wear and tear but will let it go for $300.

I think you are right in your numbers. Mitsubishi says the WHP for our cars stock is like 120 but I think your more conservative estimates are more correct. So you are looking about, tops, 140 hp, from the PG. This has been discussed many times on the boards. I'm sure if you get one you will be very happy with it.

Uh..you cant really just add the numbers up as the mods change the powerband differently at different RPMs. Your probably only going to be at like 125whp but you'll have a more usable powerband with power throughout.

sometime this spring i'd like to get my car dyno'd (see mods in sig), after i slap on my piggyback of course.

good choice with mods so far, i'd definately save up the money and go rpw headers, instead of wasting it on kamikaze and then going rpw afterwards (like i'm trying to do)

for exhaust, buschur makes a nice and cheap one, and the magnaflow from peformance peddler is always a favorite. everything else is just way too overpriced IMO

edit: btw, i have an auto too

I just noticed that in your sig you are going to SC your car. I thought that the PG wouldn't work with Ripp Mods kit? And doesn't RRM have a different Map for FI cars?

I have RRM srai, RRM header, Greddy catback, and RRM piggyback on my auto. It does give the car more oonf. I'm in the same boat as you with the turbo.. with I/H/E + piggyback you get some nice non-maintenence power. Then you can always sell your piggyback if you want to go turbo later on.

yeah, SDS is a good 6 months out, so the PB is going to hold me over until then. no you can't use it with the supercharger, although if you go stage2 rrm turbo you can send it back to them and have it reflashed.

i'd say about 3000 weasel power, but then again, it could be a touch more.

honestly, i have no idea man, all i know is the lancer is 120hp stock, 100whp or less at the wheels, so i'm at least at 121 at the crank, and 101 at the wheels. beyond that, nobody knows except Mr. Dyno.

was it worth the money? well, i'm the kinda guy that will buy a mod just to have something to do, not necessarily for the gains, so yeah, it was worth it. the power isn't great, but once i go FI via the supercharger, all these mods will really show how good they are.

wtih i/h/e i pocket dynoes in at 119whp...you your numbers are not that off, i would say top whp would be 130...but the piggy is a really good addition to mods,

figure my car is a manual, so expects a little more loss due to your auto tranny
