Just borrow bobaab's invoice and show it to the dealer. When I decided to buy a lancer, I walked in with my friend and his invoice from a few months earlier, and told the dealer I wanted that deal or better. It being August (when they start making room for the next year's models), they beat that price by $500 and gave me the triple zero financing. It was like all the negotiating had been done for me before I even arrived!

If you want a spefic car, go test drive it and leave... Then call the dealership and ask them for their best price... Cuts most of the negotiating... Then call and get a second price from somewhere else... If you know what you want, that's the way to go about it - just so much easier than trying to fight with them... Makes it possible to hang up on them, and beats my personal favorite dealer tactic:

"Mitsubishi instucts us not to deal on price." Really? Well XXX said I could have one for $$$$... Shuts them up good...

I got my auto lancer from Tustin Mitsu for $18,900 ($300 on top of MSRP as proven to me by the manager there). They are ok for buying cars... but like I said... their service department failed to find my problem after 3 visits. I went to Anaheim mitsubishi and they found my problem within 5 minutes of taking my car .

Rohrman Gurnee Motors :-(

I have had the worst car buying experiences ever. I guess you live learn and move on. BTW - I will never buy another VW again in my life. I've had nothing but bad luck with them.

Anyone buying a car, be cautious of the "Pre-Owned" certified cars. Make sure that they've actually gone through an inspection. Mine did not and all of the main wiring harness had been hacked up and the car was deemed a fire hazard. Then Rohrman VW would not honor the pre-owned certified warranty, they lost the papers, a week later found them. Funny, the car would not have passed inspection with the wires being hacked up and another VW dealership deeming it an electrical hazard.

theaphextwin84 - Try Maywood Volvo & VW, ask for Sam Tomaino, he is wonderful and he is the owner. Or try Libertyville VW, Nissan, KIA - I KNOW that they have a great service department.

Now that the Tustin Mitsu has disappeared, (thankfully it sounds)(Dec '07) - or has it?

That leaves 3 Mitsu dealerships near to where I live (Southern Orange County, Ca) Huntington, South Coast, and Anaheim.

Which is the best?
Are there anymore in my area?

I have gone to South Coast and test drove a GTS w/ CVT. I talked with Sam S. - apparently he owns or works with an Evo shop too. I liked him, up until I said that I'm not ready to buy this month, but in about 3-4 months. Then it seemed he wasn't really into selling a car that day.

I also went to Anaheim with my girlfriend (who loves the Rockford Fosgate) and friend and we were there about 3 hours (getting hagled) and still didn't leave with anything because I couldn't take any of their deals, due to the fact that I knew I wasn't going to buy a car that day either. We went through about 4 or 5 car salesmen before leaving...and everyone of them got worse ( by that I mean they were coming back with deals that were worse than the previous guy.) There's a new guy there, Eddie, that hasn't learned the ways of the car salesman yet, but if I were buying a car that day, it would be from him. He was chill. His brother is a manager there, Terry is his name.

I visited Huntington, awhile ago, to look at Evo 9's, and the guy we (my friend and I) talked to wasn't very bright and said that Mistu wasn't making Evo 9's anymore (this was early '07), when maybe a month or so after that, the SE version came out. And that dealership had the worst inventory I have ever seen. (only one '05 Lancer and like 6 Evos/ 1 MR.)

So here's my rankings so far
1. South Coast
2. Anahiem
3. Huntington

These are just my experiences.
Has anybody had a different story?

PS. Foothill Chevy sucks more ***** than any Mistu dealership. My friend has a '05 Cobalt LT that has had nothing but problems, oh and he bought the car not knowing it DIDN'T have ABS until after he signed the papers, then they told him. Jackasses.
