Dealer recommendations

I'm starting this thread for people to post their experiences with different dealerships so that if anyone comes to this site thinking of buying a lancer (or any other ) they will know what dealerships to go to and which ones to stay away from. Make sure to mention what area you're posting from.

Southern California: When I was shopping for my car (was looking for a mirage or lancer) I test drove cars at Van Nuys and Thousand Oaks. Both places acted nice until we sat down to work a deal, and then they tried to rip me off with dealer markups and not giving me a penny for my trade-in (trans am I sold for $4000 just days later) and wouldn't give me my driver's license back when I said no deal so I went to the Glendale dealership on a friend's recommendation, and they not only got rid of the dealer mark-up, but they negotiated the price down a bit more, found the color I wanted and had it tranferred for me, and even told me about the $500 graduate discount

In short, Thousand Oaks and Van Nuys =
Glendale =

New York: Manhasset Mitsubishi is good is you want rmr products and if you want to buy a car . . . bought mine thier and purchased it below sticker and that included rmr carbon fiber dash kit, tints, oz rally logo on front seats, and checkered crossed flags on front seat headrests . . . Wantagh Mitsubishi sucks for buying cars, they tried to charge me about 500 over sticker with none of the above, i dont know if all of their salesperson are jerks, but the lady with the short hair is a pain . . . also, their parts department is'nt all that good . . . One good thing i can say about Wantagh Mitsubishi is that they do honor the warranty . . . so go their if you need to . . .

How are Tustin's prices, I took blackevolancer to Anaheim Mitsubishi on Thursday to look at Lancers and they were marked up 4grand just because, 950 for an alarm that they put on every Lancer there and 250 for locking lug nuts. They were about 22k for a oz 5 speed and 21 for an es 5 speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although they do have an awesome service department

Indiana: Started at Dorsett in Terre Haute... The guy (Brett) thought he was doing me a favor by helping with my loan ap, and neglected to take anything off the price of the car... tried to hit me with all kinds of add-ins, etc... Not to mention that the car was a mall-demo, and was scratched to hell... All he offered to do was repaint it... And whined the he had to pay for it before he could sell it... Won't ever find me going there to buy a car... But Ernie in the service department kicks butt... I had a problem with the battery not holding a charge... I dropped the car off in the morning, and he had a loaner (01 Galant) warming up for me, and then swapped my car back at school when it was done...

I went to Bob Rohrman in Lafayette... Not only did I save almost $1,000 on the same car, but I got wheel locks, an exhaust tip, first service, gap insurance, and the VIN etchings included in the same price... If you're in the area, go to Rohrman, and ask to deal with Ronald Worthington... The guy didn't pull my chain or try to sell me anything extra, just gave me what I wanted, and got me out of there in under an hour after I decided on my Black OZ...

Ohio: I spent the summer in Ohio, and had some warranty issues with Ricart in Columbus... The guy in the service department there took no notes, and told me he'd call back the next Day (Late July)... Still haven't heard anything from them... Ernie took care of the problems at Dorsett though...

Ontario Mitsubishi, Pomona Mitsubishi and Norco Mit. All owned by the same jack *** and will NOT work a deal with you to get the price down from their EXAGGERATED mark up.

Tom Noe's Mistubishi in Park Ridge, IL wasn't bad, my dad owned the dealers there. haha, he's good at negotiating

I think I got a good price with my 03 lancer oz. We got a silver one w/ spoiler only 6miles on it, not on display outside. We made the dealer mark the car down to 16,000 and then we decided to add remote start and undercoating that cost about 750. so that's a total of 16750 and financing was 3.9 i think..not so bad if u ask me. u just gotta be the person with the power when it comes to negotiating price
-Bob

EDIT: the price is WITH the extended warranty too

huntington beach was pretty cool. but they didnt know anything about the lancer when i bought it last january. the price was alright, but i didnt care too much, i was just excited to be out of boot camp and getting a new car. walked in with nothing, drove out with the shinny lancer on the showroom floor. took like an hour tops. yeah for zero down zero payments

I paid $16,200.00 for my car at Frank Parra in Irving Texas. I called Don Herring and the guy blew me off on my offer. Little did he know I sell cars to. I got a 2002 Lancer OZ silver. I think I offered $500.00 over cost. ( not a total mootch)
