What should you replace b4 installing non-ic?
Hey guys; i looked around (search) but only found success stories about installing the nonic turbo (RRM one). I am planning on picking up a non ic kit from rrm around april or so; my question is what should i replace on my car to...well i guess help increase its life span with the turbo? Right now i have ....well look below; but i did read a post recommending that the intake manifold be replaced before turbo; true? i dont know. but anyway sorry if this has been covered; i couldnt find it. thanks!

you don't need a different header if you have the stock one....basically all you need is the kit and your set. you don't really need anything else except maybe some guages to monitor.
no u need the rrm header and you have to dent it in certain places, but its really easy.
also its a good idea to pick up 20w50oil and radiator fluid before you start. youll also need gasket sealant (its a gooey sealant for the oil pan)
so over all heres what you should get:
RRM Header
20x50 Oil
Radiator fluid
Gasket Maker
Boost gauge
Teflon Tape
A lot of tools
thats pretty much it...

as far as i know you dont NEED the rrm header until stg 2 ic'ed. stage 1 ic'ed is recommended though. for non'iced header isnt needed it would just make things look prettier and help you go a little faster.

Let me clarify the header issue... Kamakazie wont work, cuz its different... We highly recommend the RRM header if going turbo, thats for sure. Its because that header retains way too much heat and is way to restrictive. It will also save you a bunch of time putting it on when first doing the install, also your turbo gains will be restricted a lot due to the fact that the most restrictive part on the lancer is the header. Other then that, stock header will be ok with non ic and ic (make shure to gut it out) ... but don't expect to keep up with someone with the rrm header and a turbo... you'll loose 10 or more whp cause of it
