I just like the fact that its different... Yea you may not loose a whole lot of poundage, but you'll have a custom interior different from everyone else... Unfortunately I decided to go like everyone else, and am going to be glassing my interior... keep us posted on everything

we are entitled to our opinion, and most of us say that this mod is pretty much useless. might as well put in some christmas lights in the car to make it have "neon"

 

how about you just take all the panels out and not put anything in its place for when you race? The door panels come off in about 45 seconds each. seats come out quick.

If you are going to be racing and are that worried about it, if you look in most race cars, they don't even have interior pieces. Jesus.. just rip them all out and have a little piece of aluminum holding the gauges on.. it isn't that hard. Does anyone watch rallies or nascar? On the in car shots, they just have bare metal for almost everything. I don't see any nice cupholders, arm rests, back seat, carpet, dash with air bags.. etc.
edit: my passanger air bag from my 2g eclipse weighed almost 20lbs.. lol.

The only reason someone might want these is if they race their car and don't want their mommy to find out.. lol. (so everything looks normal and is lighter) But.. I guess it is an OK idea but not very practical. It would cost way to much to try to make something lighter than is already light.. plus it would take lots of time since I doubt anyone has a place to manufacture these on a large scale.. also, not many people are going to want to spend the money on that.. rather just get a turbo kit so the car makes enough power so 20lbs extra in the dash won't make a difference. Just get a skinnier girlfriend.

 

No, I hear what your saying that it's not practical but I'm just saying that its just another option. Thats all I was trying to do. I was going to do a couple guys a favor by just having them pre-made if they wanted it. I mean by the poll theres alot of curiosity about it, I would just be the tester of it. If you wanted one ok, if not, ok. It shouldnt be a bashing fest because someone wants to throw out an idea and it doesnt say RRM. The lancer community is a joke. Not saying all of the members are but you can tell who the aholes are by their post count. I have around 300 legit posts and responses, while I see others with almost 3000 garbage posts that take up space and are here on a power trip because no one can get in their face about it. Their all little b!thces. They can come out to NY and I'll lighten their face up. Just make sure they have a good dentist when they get back home.
