You should be OK then. I think you'd know if you had one.

just a heads up, most exhaust shops do a free inspection, so that might be worth a try

as for what you said blacksheep, i do hear a "wastegate" type sound at high revs, maybe i should get mine check cause i just changed gaskets

If they'll check it for free, go for it. Never hurts.

Does your car feel like it has less low-end power? That's a big sign as well. Loss of backpressure hurts TQ.

Yeah, I feel boggy, I'll take my car to the place I got my exhaust done and have them check for any leaks. Can't hurt.

Get them checked then kids!

GP - I'm the king of exhaust leaks. I have a gasket sitting on my desk waiting to be installed. Damn cat/catback gasket blew out...

Don't blame the headers. It's usually a bad gasket or install error.

i've blown 2 gaskets on my rpw header. go to an exhaust shop and get a 2.25" metal composite exhaust gasket. that's if you're blowing those black/brown organic paper feeling gaskets. here's a pic of a composite gasket.

i had to get 2.5" for the rpw header and they cost $8. i'd figure maybe less than a buck difference. they definately haven't blown yet in 2 years.

another issue i had with the rpw header was that they gave me bolts that were skinnier than the holes on the header. after i figured that this was part of the problem of the flanges not seating flat together, i went out and bought bolts were exactly the same diameter as the holes and noticed how much better they seated afterwords. you might not have this problem, but i thought i should mention it.

I have changed my gasket twice, changed bolts and nuts, and now the leak is coming from the front and back of where the header/downpipe flanges meet. >=[ It doesn't seem to have lost low end power or affect idling, but it is REALLY loud after 3 grand and smells in the engine bay. It sounds kinda like whooooshhh... I think I am going to take the header off and grind down the flange until it is as level as possible. I'm going to be miffed if this doesn't fix it! Maybe end up selling set up for RPW, which I should of got anyways........
