Remember this next time you need a cop to fill out a vandalism report, or if your house gets broken into.
Everyone makes mistakes, including cops.

I'm going to ask if that regular clear yellow window film is legal, and if the mirror tint is.. most likely I'm not getting mirror because I bet a state cop would pull me over for sure. So I'm prolly getting the clear yellow. I've seen it on a yellow civic by me and it looks really good. I used to not like it just by the sound of "yellow tint", but once I saw it, I liked it.

Even a 16 yr old kids without license can easily tell if the tint on the car is legal not. If a cop doesnt know these type of common laws that we got some problems here.

hahaha, that reminded me how dumb cops are, i was in my mustang one time and the cop busted a u from the other side of the street that he had to make through an island that goes along the whole street, then he pulls me over and goes im puling you over for ur headlights being smoked, i was like ok watevers, and he goes ur foglights look blue, and i go no sir they just look that way but they shine bright white they are driving lights, and he goes turn them on so i did and he looks puzzled cuz they looked blue tinted when they are off, and he goes ok, then he goes roll up ur window(he wanted to see if it was tinted) i go it is rolled up, he either wasnt payin attention or didnt hear me and tells me to roll it up again, so this time i tap on the glass and plainly say it is rolled up, and he goes oh ur window is pretty clean, hahahaha stupid *** cops
I got pulled over 3 times and two tickets also but i dont get my moment in the sun by havin my name in 04lancerEsGuy 's signature

cop was prally bored and had nothing better to do, hell with 100 people in town, he ran out of ppl to give tickets to! personally i think tinting laws are rediculous, in illinois i think the tint on front windows is 0% lol. oh well
Small town communities want their cops doing small town stuff - like enforcing traffic. Not that big cities don't have traffic violators or traffic cops, but you'll find that people in big cities are mor concerned with residential burglaries, gangs, violent crimes, etc. What I'm getting at is that you probably didn't encounter a bored cop - more than likely he was simply doing what that community wants him to do.
As for this situation, I'd suggest heading down to that station and asking to see the Watch Commander or even filing a citizen complaint, citing that you got hastled for something that wasn't illegal by Officer XYZ. And if you fear a reprisal, well I don't know anything about MI, but I'd say that's paranoid thinking.

so wait, u actually razored ur windows b/c he suggested it? umm... hmm... bad choice. I would of taken a fix-it-ticket. ( i know u said they don't have them quote un quote. ) but you have x ammount of days to have the problem fixed before a ticket is issued in most cases... slamming the breaks, no good, but breaking woulda been a good choice...
