i suppose you COULD leave the bottom one on, so incase your IM decides to randomly fall out (breaking what, 8 steel bolts and nuts along with it) the bottom would prevent it from falling to the ground........but the odds on that are like 1/1xxxxxxxxxxxxx

the top one would be best if you just removed it, it does no good anyway

Yeah I just don't like the idea of cutting stuff off my car, but I'm in, I wanna get my IM done this summer so might as well do this at the same time. I'll just leave the brackets alone, if they're not doing any harm no point in getting rid of em.

I saw those advertised at Hot Import Nights.. they look like they might actually work. Spacing the IM from the engine block so it doesn't heat up.. makes sense.

I ordered a 4G93 gasket, so as soon as I get it I can start cutting them out. I will do 10 at first then go from there. As far as the brackets go, we have been removing them for YEARS on the 1G/2G DSM's(they have similar brackets in the same locations), with no "intake manifold failures" yet. 500whp, no balance shafts, lots of boost, lots of abuse, I have never seen or heard of a stock intake mani breaking or even cracking from the removal of these two brackets. Like mentioned before, this isnt going to be some "OMG, I feel the POWER" type of mod but it does help, every little thing counts. Our spacers have been used on some of the fastest DSMs in the country, including Curt Browns 9.4 at 148mph no nos Eclipse, Curts 10.92 at 124mph record setting stock turbo Evo, and Dan Sansu's 10.0 at 140mph Galant VR4(worlds fastest/quickest VR4).

Longer mounting hardware will be included. Would you guys rather have the gaskets come with the spacers or get them yourselves? Two are needed, one for each side of the spacer.

So its popular to swap a 4g93 intake mani onto a 4g94? I have gaskets coming for each, just trying to figure out how the spacer needs to be cut. I guess I will see the differences when they get here.

Mike, so Im assuming that it would be best to have the spacer cut for the 4g94 gasket? I will look at them when I get them in a few days.

they should be identical but if they werent, it actually would probably be smarter now to do one for the 4g93 gasket since the ppl taht would be getting these are ppl that also have or are getting the 93 mani.

Cool, I figured that if the intake was interchangeable, it wouldnt matter. I ordered one of each since they were different part #s.
