I guess I ought to be in on this too. Hey, if they're trying to fix Racer X, that's good. So long as they don't do that $80 thing to you, you're set, no loss in a shirt. There were problems with them before, but I'm willing to give benefit-of-the-doubt if they were that forward and honest with you. Good luck with them, man, and keep us posted how it goes

^yeah. if it was a true sponsorship u would be dealing directly w/ the other companies, not thru some 3rd party. o well. i look forward to your thread "OMG! SCP is a scam!" in the near future. many people have been there and done that. not to be rude or anything but many people on this site have way more heavily moded lancers than yours and if they don't have sponsorships, what makes u think that u got one over them?

hes going ahead w/ it b/c he doesnt have to pay nething yet. I would too if they told me they would sponsor but didn't ask for money, whats it going to hurt. Im sure this dude knows how to look over a contract and tell when somebody is trying to f*ck him. Hopefully everything works out for u and keep us posted

man, the day intake and exhaust gets you a sponsorship is the day I leave this lifestyle. Im slightly more modified than you, probably $10,000 more invested and I still only have a few partial sponsors.

What in your head makes you think that this is a legit sponsorship?

I'd give you more credit if you said "My car is sponsored by my Mom and Dad"

The horror stories of SCP are out there, do the research on all the scams.

He going to go through with it so settle down, and its only cost him a measely $22.99, so far. Also, he said he's pre law so he knows what to do if they try to scam him(although ul dont necessarily have to be pre law to know that).

they offered me the sponsorship as well. For obvious reasons, I turned them down as should you.

the obvious reason i turned them down was the 3rd party senario (and they were going to charge me 80 bucks). i would rather deal with a company who posts a catalog and prices online.

Search every Import Forum you can think of about this company. Expecially look at the ones that have been around for 2+ years. You will find out exactly how much of a scam this is.

It is legit. You are basically paying for buying power. You get certian discounts from certian companies if you are a part of this guild.

But its not worth it. You can get all teh parts you need via Group Buys on here and will get better deals

I agree to the fullest that had I had to pay 88 or 89.00 whatever cost no way in the world would it be worth it, but I don't have that much tied up into it. So technically I haven't paid to be sponsored. And a company wants a diverse group of people in random places. I'm in a smaller rural area in southern indiana. When I emailed a few other companies (no names will be released) they said that if the scene is growing in a certain area that they will do small sponsorships with not necessarily parts, but an entry fee. I am sure it is very very hard to get a full out sponsorship, but I think it would be easier to get one in an area that the scene was just now beginning to start instead of a scene that its been around for a while. The company needs to get their name out and what better place than an area that its all just beginning???

At least it has been classified as legit by Danno here.. Granted he says it is not worth it, eventually, but probably not, it could grow into something better. Lets just keep our fingers crossed.

Yeah it's kinda like Sam's Club you pay a certain amount to get stuff cheaper, but in this case you don't actually get them cheaper.

If the guy wants to burn a few bucks let him. He says he's not going to be screwed out of anything so it's up to him now.

It's one of those things....anything that isn't a sponsor from RRM (not that they do that?) is pretty much useless. anyone else that makes **** for our cars makes like maybe 1 or 2 things...and it's mostly b/s anyway...have fun buying some sweet floor mats at discounted price. I'm sorry if I sound really negative...I'm glad you are getting out and doing stuff for you and your car...and I would probably get excited too if someone called me saying they want to sponsor my car...but just think of it on a "what can you do for me" basis......if it's not RRM, RMR, Accolade, and maybe a couple other companies...it's useless...if you had a civic, it might be a different story...

RRM does sponsor select vehicles.
