Talking Got a Partial Sponsor Today!!!

I just now started getting serious on my lancer and I decided to find a sponsor, full or partial made no difference to me. I picked up a company called Sport Compact Pro, they deal with a bunch (around 200 i think) companies and cover 25 - 75% of the cost of my product and ship it to my door free! how awesome is that?

yeah my friend had the same thing, but they promised him a skyline...to me it sounds really fishy.

And the fact that the "contract" requires u to do sooo many things mod and racing, that it cant treally be done by a normal kid or person with a job.

I will, I will. I bet before you get anything from them they will ask you for a 89.99 fee for filing paperwork and other things then you will never get a thing from them. I have seen it many times. I have a 400+whp evo with all kinds of money and parts put into it but no one is giving me any money. I had a "sponsorship offer" but they wanted money up front to cover the costs of aplications etc....It's all bs unless you are a racer and win and can bring them a lot of business.

i will, that site you signed up on is a scam. in no way shape or form will a sponsor have you pay a "processing fee" or anything like that. if you want to score sponsors you should put a nice portfolio together. kind of like a report with a cover sheet and all. list everything you have done to the car, everything you are doing, why you do it, what future shows/events your going to attend, how you can help the companie(s) get there name out etc.... thats how i have heard of quite a few people doing it... the worst thing that they can do is say no. there are plenty of companies out there looking for people they just dont go telling it to the whole world.

heres another fly in the ointment:

these 200 companies sport compact works with, what are the chances they carry lancer products? so you get a discount from a store you can't even shop at cause we have limited places that supply stuff for the lancer

seriously, think about what others are telling u before u dive into this. I can give you the number of my friend(even though ur probably not in the same area as me) and he can personally tell you that it is a large, steaming pile of BS.

k thanks for the info, I will keep you guys posted on what happens, all I can say is if I don't get anything I'm only out 13.99 for a t-shirt I opted to get.. Oh well.. At least i get a t-shirt. Had a friend deal with them and he got a carbon fiber front end for 345.00 shipped to his door among numerous other things. He got me the deal.
