When did everyone first fall in love with the Evo?
In all honesty it was when I played Gran Turismo for Playstation...I bought the Evo because it was in that cool yellow. I was like "Nifty!". I also liked the performance from AWD cars in that game so I was bound to find it. Although I will admit...my money maker for the AWD course was an STi.
When i first read a raving review about the Evo6 and every subsequent reviews went wild over those cars.
My first reaction to seeing a picture of an Evo6 was "haha! This car looks simply too outrageous!"
Yes, nothing like seeing an Evo in real life on the street.
I was a a stop light and this white Evo6.5 stopped. I could only stare at the car. What a road presence!!
And when i saw a black one pull up to the hotel...wow!!

Sophomore year high-school. Took a vacation to the philippines and spotted a Lancer Evo 3 for the first time. I did research and saw a Evo 4 parked at a mall and said to myself "ONE DAY, it will me mine."
Well, good question. Hmm, well I was born in UK, lived in Kenya, one of the WRC places: The Safari Rally takes place there. Lots of Carismas, but I never really paid attention to the mitsu, I didn't even thought it existed in WRC. I was just into the Celica GT-4 and the Lancia Delta Integrale. Anyway, tommi mackinnen hit the scene, it was just bias, I favoured him and saw he drove Mitsubishi. (another point at this point, 80% of the cars we've owned have been mitsu, we have owned over 15 cars) anyway, I started favouring Mitsu, I hated the Repsol Escort and the Subby looked good. Toyota was out of the picture with the ****ty corrolla and Lancia quit. Peugeot was ok, never really paid attention to them either. Anyway, I watched WRC like a religion, but was still not acquianted to Evo. Anyway, moved back to UK, my uncle owned a evo IV, he let me sit in it while he floored the car. Oh ****, I was an inch from pissing my pants. The car accelrated so damn fast. My stomach was feel funny, every part of my body wanted to push back, not to mention my head was planted onto the head rest. ****, my uncle hit about 100 mph and the car was screaming. I was impressed. I went onto the internet and look at the Evo V, which looked awesome. Anyway, I moved to US and lost track of Evo, never paid attention. But then again about 2 years ago, there was a rumor of Evo coming to USA. I researched the current Evo 7, I fell in love, first sight. I made Evo my religion. I've gone to every auto show possible, never seen it, DC, NY, and baltimore. Anyway I've been preaching ever since, and finally my dream has come true...to some extent, its not the Evo that pinned my head to the seat, don't know if this one will do the same. I hope so.
The day in Infami
I first learned about it and red about it back in 97. At that time the Evo V was out. That was the first one I saw. Then realizing they were not in the states yet, I hung my head in sorrow. It's been a long road and it's finally coming. Bow the Metalgodz for building this creation, and sending it our way.
In that Jackie Chan movie!!! LOL. I don't know which number it was, but that car was off the hook. I immediately fell in love with it. The first Japanese car I actually owned was a 91 Galant LS. After hearing about the VR-4 version, I wanted to do a swap in it, but no one was familiar with that swap around my way. So, I then turned to the next quickest thing I could afford, 2000 Civic Si.
NOW i hear the EVO is coming to the US. Looks like I'll be driving a Mitsu again.

It was in some jackie chan movie i think, there was a white lancer in the background. I asked my brother about it and he told me those cars are only made in japan. Than a few months later i got gran turismo 1 and there it was, fell in love with it ever since both occassions.
