I still remember the first test drive...

but more importantly... the first day I picked it up! Driving it home in the rain... loving that feeling when the boost would kick in... it felt like a jet.

What was everyone's first day like?

It was the fastest car i have ever drove so of course i gunned it. I surprised everyone i knew. They had no clue i was getting the Evo.. until i pulled up and had seen the look on their faces.. "Priceless" lol.

Honestly, my first drive in an evo was pretty disappointing lol. I have been playing with dms for 8 years now. I always had my 1g I had been working on since I was 16. By the time I saw my first evo, my 1g was fairly built. Built motor, fp3065@26psi, cams, exhaust etc. So after driving my 1g with that 30r on it at 26psi, the first evo I drove(wasnt mine), was fairly stock and disappointing to say the least lol.

That didnt stop me from getting out of dsms and into evos though. I saw the potential they had with less money in mods. At least compared to a dsm, they were much newer and saw less problems so far, age being that primary reason.

The first time I test drove the current one I have now though, I had a on my face. It was my 4th evo I had ever driven, but, this was the first, with a bigger turbo, cams, o2 dump, etc lol. So it was a blast to say the least!!

Whenever I got a new car I would find the stupidest reasons to go for a drive, like I feel like a red bull. But when I got my evo I hadn't owned a car with such a heavy clutch (A/M carbon) and I was paranoid about doing damage to it and only drove it if I had to

But the test drive, I went WOT in 1st from standing (no launch) and all I remember is the boost kicked in like a hit from David Tua.

Well my story starts not even 16 hours after I come home from Iraq. I purchased my Evo over a Sat phone costing more then 8 dollars a min. Thank god it was free for me. Well anyways About 4 months before I returned home I found an Evo not far from my house. Conversation went something like this. Called Pensacola Mitsubishi asking about the car. It had no miles on it and the sales person thought he was selling me on the car but I already knew everything about it and he couldnt do anything to change my mind. I asked if I can put a down payment. They asked well how much do you want to put down? $2k or $3k? I was like how about 20K the guy shat a brick! Made the payment over the phone and then 4 months later I arrived home at about 11 o'clock at night and by 8 the next morning I was waiting outside for My car before I even test drove. Durring my test drive since in Florida you have to before you can buy it. The sales rep recieved a phone call saying the bank fell through and I was like ok refund me my 20 grand. the GM replied over the phone just take the car and they will work on another bank. It took them 2 weeks to settle something for the apr I wanted. So how is that for a first drive? Hell I didnt even own the car the first 500+ miles I drove it!

I will never forget mine , it was azum , a little bit scarry , beause i never drove a car before whit that mutch power , the feeling when the boost kicked in was so nice , got that special feeling in my stomec.
and that my steering weel is in the right side made it even scaryer, not maby peapole have that here in sweden and I never been sitting on the wrong side before , but i love it from the first second ,
I had a long way to drive home , and i lerand the car in a few hrs ,
And today i love it just as mutch as the first time ,

the thing i dont love is that is so dame expensiv when i have to service the car ,
oilchange , motor , grearbox , center ,diff rear diff , AYC , sparkplugs , break fluid ,
break disks and pads ,

I love my car , And im always treeting it like a chile love it fore the most , and abuse it some times, smaking thrue gears street racing ,

But i only but the best money can bye fore my evo , 200% Quality stuff all thure , Would never put a cheap part on my evo , from ebay , e.c.t I rather , work twice as mutch then beeing cheap to my car,

I would never sell it , not even if i would have finansal trubble , would rahter take a extra jobb ,
that because i own Evo 6 tme Number # 49

I remember taking my car for a test drive and amazed at how quickly it steered. I wasn't allowed to boost it since it only had 6 miles on it and bought it that day. After I bought the car I was impressed with the engine LOL.
