Heading to the track for the first time any tips?

Hey guys,
I'm heading to the track for the first time to check my 1/4 mile time. Any tips on shifting and such to get a better time?

Check out the driving techniques forum. I was just in there and there are some good tips along with videos to show how to do some advanced shifting techniques.

As said above, check out the driving techniques forum. Also, after you learn how to launch (only if you're in a manual) and shift quickly and smoothly, you should get your car dynoed to help determine good RPMs to shift at.
