Dealership Stole From Me!

My car was at the dealership yesterday getting the fuel gauge fixed(which wont get fixed til wednesay now). Anyways, i went to pick it up after i got off work, and i noticed a few things missing. I work at a carwash, and 5 $13 passes were missing, a pack of drop cloths and some other carwash products. All together they (someone in the service department) took about $80 worth of crap.

Monday i'm goin back to say somethin, but what do i say. I dont want to flat out accuse the dealership b/c i spend a lot of time up there talkin to the poeple who work there. I love being at this dealership, and then someone ruins it by taking crap. HOw can i go about confronting them while trying to stay nice about the whole situation?

You checked every possible place, they might have moved it. Plus I can see why it would be just the service dept, easy they voided everyones warrenty so why should we even bring the cars into a dealership.

Seriously, just ask them, who the hell cares what they think. It was your stuff, not theirs.

Be careful. All dealerships have a sign somewhere that states they are not responsible for items stolen from your vehicle. I'll bet they point that out to you right quick.

u might be sol. u kno man whenever i leave my car anywhere i TAKE EVERYTHING OUT. even my headunit.

but i would still complain

tell them ucant beleive that they would do something like that, that it sucks that u cant trust them anymore, and ask to speak to the owner of the dealership, the owner does not want any bad **** being spread around and might talk to the guys or give u some free ****...

should have called them!
as most people know when you leave your car at the dealership only leave the car, the keys and some garbage you dont need!
I always leave a $1 bill behind the drivers seat and $3-5 in the glove box just to test them!
If they dont give you some money or something to take care of it; not that it will help; but call mitsu and complain! this hurts their CSR scores!

whether or not they have that sign, they are still liable. especailly because it was in their hands at all times. a sign like that just keeps people from complaining, but if you were to take them to court (for example) it wouldnt hold up worth anythign

Although they may be quick to point out this disclaimer, it really does not defer any liability. They are entirely responsible for what happens to your car while it is in thier possession. Be calm, but firm. "i dropped my car off here, these items are missing, how do you intend to correct this?" Telling other customers that your car was robbed there could be bad for business, and management would not appreciate thier techs stealing anyway.

Man, that really sucks. If you are absolutely sure that they stole the stuff, I would ask to speak to the shop manager and calmly explain to him what you told us here. Just tell him about the missing items but be sure to let him know that you are not trying to incriminate him personally, but rather that you went to him for help. It seems like you have a good relationship with the dealership so I'm sure they will understand. I hope it works out for you.

If they stole from you, believe me, you don't want to go back there.

talk to svc manager first and make a list of items that were taken. Do not talk to the techies. do it on the side- i.e. start off by saying to him- i am a little concerned that.... make sure you ask for the svc mgr first, but don't say why to the secretary.

Aight his is what u do. When u go back to the dealership be like i had some car washing stuff in my car and some car wash coupons in the car. ask them did they take them out and put it to one side and forget to put it back in my car? if they say i have no idea what u are talking about then give em hell.

You should let them know that things were missing cause you might not be the only one to bring that problem up. If they are a respectable dealership they will investigate the matter and offer you something for the value of what was taken. If they do nothing I suggest you complain to Mitsubishi Motors and stop going to that service dept.
