evo 8 carbon fiber wing problem

okay., i know there's a thread somewhere out there on this, or someone's had this problem. but ive had my evo spoiler for like 5 or 6 months. Anyways, the clear coat in certain spots is coming off seems like, and i would like to know how to fix it w/o damaging the carbon fiber...or should i just like buy carbon fiber vinyl and wrap it with that to cover up the flaws? it only shows up in Direct sunlight and under florescent lighting.

Check under 'How to' section. There is a thread for how to make your wing all carbon fiber.

You can sand down the section very carefully and then buff it out. Make it shiney!

DON'T wrap it in vinyl!!

I don't know what the other thread says, but I would sand and re-clearcoat it.

It'll looks tacky, IMO. It won't solve the problem.

Do you know anyone in the area who is a DYI guy? They might be able to help you out. Another option would be to take it to a shop and have them sand/clear it.

take it to the dealer. i'm having mine replaced under warranty this week. first it starts to look funny then it peels, or flakes off.

Take it to someone that does fiberglass work. i.e. Corvette shop or something. They should be able to do it for you

Please don't cover that beautiful thing in vinyl.

Maybe have it reclearcoated? Don't know how much you want to spend on the fix...

They put a clearcoat over the resin? If the resin is damaged...that's really annoying. If it's clearcoat it should be a relatively easy fix.

Take it to a body shop and ask them if they can fix it?

I would try to have ir professionally done. I wouldn't want to risk messing up carbon fiber
