UGH! new car or turbo kit??!!

So my baby sister is turning 16 soon, anyways she really really likes my car and I was thinking about giving her my car instead of my parents buying her a new car. *trying to save my family some money here*. Anyways I was talking to my parents and basically this is what we were thinking:

Instead of buying my sister a new $20,000.00 car, they offered to give me
$8-10,000.00 and I pay the rest for any car I want. Basically I was could use the $10,000.00 as a down payment for any car.

BUT i have been saving for a turbo kit and i should have enough when my next paycheck comes in. I LOVE the idea of having a sleeper oz lancer...what would you guys/girls do in my shoes? Give my lancer to my sis and get a new car, or turbo my lancer?

really depends on how much you like your car and if you have been looking at something different.

is your lancer paid off?

then yeah it really just depends on if you like your car then, we can't make up your mind here on the forums, but I can tell you I can afford much more expensive cars with my current job, and I'm still in my lancer.

I say give your sis the car and buy something that has already been turbocharged or supercharged (whatever your preference is) and just lightly mod it. I don't know what other cars you would look into, maybe a WRX, used EVO, etc.....plus, you'll get the added bonus of helping out your fam!

with 10k from his family and another 4k (turbo savings fund) I doubt he has to get a used evo... that's a pretty nice downpayment.

and if his family is ready to spend 20k on a 16 yr old (and probably bought his lancer, at once with cash) I doubt they really need help.

Like i said before, i have no idea what he's looking for, im merely throwing out suggestions. And obviously his parent's dont need help, im saying it would be a nice gesture.

Don't put the turbo kit on the OZ. You might be quick off the line, but it still wouldn't have a lot of the other things an Evo has, such as: stiffer frame, brembos, handling, engine interals made for high boost. You'd be better off getting something else.

if i were in your shoes, id just give my car to my sister and just go for the new car. why make a slow car fast when you can just buy a car thats already fast? i mean someone is going to get a new car whether its you or her right? might as well be you. im pretty sure she will be just fine with the lancer lol

Yup, give her the OZ and get something else that suits your fancy. If you can't find a used evo (or don't want one, not everyone loves evos strange but true) get something that you'd enjoy, maybe an SRT-4 or WRX if you want a newer car, or if you want raw speed get an older car, maybe a 240 w/ a red top swap or whichever. Not to hate on lancers but as an all around performance platform they are kindof lacking, plus you will make your lil sis happy and if you make the right car choice make yourself very happy too.

at first i was gonna say turbo your lancer, but i have to agree you'd feel a lot better if you gave your sister your car and bought something new that is already fast. and then with the money you were saving to turbo ur oz u can put that towards mods on ur new car. yah that sounds good

I would give your sister the OZ and get a new EVO, with the money from your parents and whatever you saved for the turbo kit, you'll have a nice downpayment and should be able to get your payments to a real managable price range. Well depending on how much you make, but regardless that would be a great downpayment for any new car you are looking into
