Lancer and Evo Body Frame
well since i feel bad for going off topic(not particularly something i do), here's some pictures to play with. looks as though the evo has more bolts to put on. if my roommate didn't crash his evo, i'd have a better answer. guess imma have to wait til Q4 when he gets the 9(bastard).

a possible problem for the evo headlights is that the lancer has a plate welded on for the battery support where the evo mounts it's battery further back in the engine bay. you might have to put the battery elsewhere as well.
there have been 2 members(i think) that have done the front end conversion using evo 7 parts. both have left the boards since then. i think one was calvinwich, and the other was from texas or somethin.

Really? That is real interesting. So if I had an 04' huh?.... man i missed it by a year model. lol I wouldn't want the new Lancers... the front looks like a bug (not the VW). Everytime I see the new Lancer and I look at the lights.. it reminds me of a praying mantis. Hahaha
RHYZIN, thanks for the instructions on the removal of the bumper. Makes things easier for me when i go and remove my bumper. I was having a debate whether to buy all evo 8 parts and replace it on my car, or if i should just go and buy the conversion kit. my only thing though, is that i very much like the 02-03' headlights compared to the 04-05'. But even with these lights, i still think that they aren't aggressive enough like the Evo's. I want it angry! I want to drive my Lancer down the street and have the front look so aggressive that it would come to life n run all the other cars off the road!
The evo bodies are about 3 and 1/4 inches wider than the Lancer, and the hood length is 2 1/2 inches longer. Just get an after market Lancer hood with the evo vents in it. Take the bumper, cut it in half right down the middle. So now you have 2 pieces (left side of bumper to half of the opening for intercooler, and the other half is the right side of bumper all the way to the other half opening for the intercooler. Cut about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 of an inch off each side then re fiberglass together. use mdf board and a c-clamp on the back side for support and strength when fiberglassing on the back side. You have to drill new bolt points on your ES/LS/OZ fender cause they dont match up to EVO's bumper or fill in the holes on teh evo bumper and drill new ones to match your fenders. takes about 5-6 hours. Depending on fiberglass skill, and how everything fits up.
Sheesh... if i had another car i could drive around...then i'd do all this work... but by the end of the day... i still drive this car around, so i can't have it layin in the garage stripped and waiting to be redone... plus i have work, so its not like i can devote my time with it everyday. :-D Thanks for the help though!
