omg there's a lot of losers here in MD that i don't trust any shop ><. the bodyshop where my car got fixed in an accident almost got broken in and stolen. I did my oil change in some other shop and the $^%hole didn't change the filter. Everytime I send it to a shop I always check if something's missing so far only some are missing ><. It's either I install it or a friend mechanic will help me install it. sad ; ; no i'm fuc%$%

problem is the risk involved in installing IM. If i can't self-install I can't let a shop install it for me

 

It's not that bad... if you do it take pics of everything or get your hands on a diagram of the engine. If you are doing a ported swap of the 4g94 IM then you just hook up everything to the same lines... If you are doing a 4g93 IM swap then you need to be prepared to do some redirecting of hoses. It's about a 6 on the "Fox" 1-10 scale of toughness.

Just have N1te or Jotun put it on for you... wait... you'd have to be local for that... Wait you live in MD. We live in NOVA. We could do it. Now join our club... see sig for details.

Try running a search for other Lancers on this board who live by you who may have some experience. In all honesty, its very, very unlikely it was a problem of installation with the guys ported IM. If it was from installaling a dirty IM, all you need to do is make sure your parts are clean before you install them. And there is always a large pool of knowledge here from many who've done it before including our beloved GURU - boeturbolancer

O and btw ty for invite shin, i'll join the club if I can stand up my feet and have the ability to support the club, not become a moocher. Right now I'm just a beggar trying to make ends meet ; ;.. Shops can be hell... self install can be scary... but with the size of this community it seems your never far from some sort of member assistance. If all else fails just post a shout out for help.
