sorry to get off topic, but if you are gonna spend 15-18K for a lancer, then spend another 10K+ to make it equally as fast or less than an Evo then why not just buy an Evo for a little more.

 

For the millionth time:

Some people like to create a fast car. Other people go out and buy them. It's a personal preference.

Would you rather say "look what I did" or "look what I bought" ???

That's the difference.

 

Not to mention that the RRM Lancer is faster than a stock Evo. To get an Evo under 13 seconds, you have to do more than just go to the dealership.

 

The mag is seriously biased against the Lancer. It's cool they could give props to the RRM Lancer, but really uncool that they had to BASH the Lancer in general. The Lancer is superior to the sh1tvic in pretty much every way (except gas mileage maybe? HAha..)... plus let's see a civic get 325 torque!! and lets see how much it would COST to build a civic to 290hp/325tq... sorry just aint gonna happen, they'll have to rev up to 10,000rpm to even come close that amount of power .. and they will still have 90hp @ 4000rpm !! haha

sorry i had to get it out I love my lancer too even with only 120hp...

 

dont get me wrong, i am all for modifing a car, i am just saying thats a lot of money to spend just to get into the same level as an Evo or WRX STi. but like you said its all personal preference.

 

actually, you can get an 02-03 oz rally for fairly cheap, many i have seen under 10K. i wouldnt waste my money on the 04+, i think mitsubishi really set itself back with that design, although the ralliart is bareable. just like blacksheepdj said, you take more pride in building a car rather than buying one that is already fast.

 

build it, beat it, break it, build it better, beat it, break it... die crying... build it again...

Any Dentist, doctor, or stripper can buy an EVO and be fast. It is a real treat to create your car kinda like an artist uses oil paint.........

i am not saying that the lancer is not badass after all the mods. I guess what I ment to ask was not not start with a better platform like the Evo and spend 10K to make it super fast. Instead of spending 10K on a lancer and topping out just past a factory evo. But then again the the evo does cost 15-20K more than a brand new lancer.

BTW, what do you mean mitsu took a step back with the 04+ ralli art. Im not putting down pre 04 lancers, but everyone I know thinks the newer ones look better.

actually they do have an evo, i think they have more than one though.

and to answer your question, i just dont like the new design of the lancer, i prefer the 02-03. i said that the ralliart is bearable since it has decent wheels, skirts (im not sure if they make them for the oz anymore-havent seen one with it) and a copensating engine.

 

Nice pic... they have 2 right now. One is ROCK's daily driver, the other is the race car, and soon another will hopefully grace their shop. Mitsu should have a 9 ready for them soon.

Gotta love a company fully backed by Mitsu themselves... or hate them for getting all those beautiful cars given to them!! At times it's hard to decide which

I know everyones creaming over the look of the evo8 , but won't mixing and matching the Ralliart front with RRM's Skirts and rear bumper make us do a double take?

Anyways, heh. Thats the direction Im heading. Lancer Headlights with the Ralliart's front bumper and RRM's sides and rear. Everyone likes a bit of "rear."
