What is the difference-CAI and Short Ram Air
From the looks of it the short ram air use all stock parts except for the filter and the CAI is a whole new unit. Also the short ram fits the auto were as the CAI doesnt
the CAI is a intake that does just that , it takes in cold air. the filter is normally placed in the inner fender well or below the motor. hte short ram will just pull in the hot air from the motor compartment. The colder the air the more dense it is and the stronger the explosion.

That's the only kind I give.
Short rams are designed for both auto and manual, CAI's really only for manual, though they CAN fit auto if you MAKE them...it's really not worth it IMO.
As for install difficulty...You could train a monkey to do it for you.

i dont think there will be much difference, if any in power gains, like hobie said just the sound. but as far as function, short ram sucks air right next to the motor, meaning warmer air, but the cai will bring in air further from the engine, so that its cooler.
unless you get one of those air ducts sliced up into your hood so that air goes right into it! I don't much care for the K&N anyway beacause it angles toward the engine bay, The Injen SRI goes over towards the left fender well by the battery and the fusebox, better placement IMO!!!! I have noticed that my stuff stays a little bit cooler since I got my EVO VII hood on there too!
