i have a question about the Evo 5, how could i get it American street legal? sorry i am new 2 this board an just last week i been thinkin about buyin this car. any1 know tho?

1. You can try http://www.evolutionimports.net

2. You can try to import it yourself and register it as a kit car. No guarantee and you may be stuck with a very expensive track car.

3. You can import an Evo, buy a Mirage, and swap every part over. This would be very expensive, but legal since the Mirage has a VIN#.

Those are the ones I can think of.

I know this is probably illegal but, what if i found a crashed mirage took the vin# off it then put it on an EVO V and took the EVO and got it registerd under the mirage vin# you think that this could work?

 

AH man i dont know why i didnt think of this before the EVO is RHD, that would be kinda weird to have a mirage vin on a RHD car if i was a cop and saw this i would be suspicious...

 

If you find a wrecked mirage, then it would be a salvaged vehicle. If you buy a salvaged vehicle, it will have a salvaged title. you need to clean that title before you drive the car on the roads legally. In order to clean a title, at least in VA, you need to rebuild it with OEM parts. you also need proof of purchase. and ALL THE RECEIPTS for repair!! if you have all of this, then an inspector will come out and give you the ok. once you have the ok and all the paper work done, then you can go to DMV and they will give you a clean title. a lot of work!
