uuhhh.. it might be a little late for that. Its 2005 now, and we all know how mitsubishi's paint is. =/ Check with your dealership, they have records of all that stuff if you don't have them from when you bought the car.

Late meaning what. I do have my records but not with me now. If I remember corrctly, did they not come with a 7 year 100,000 mile paint warranty, or something to that extent.

I know the new ones have a 3 year or something.. but I'm not sure about 03 and previous. I'll have to check out what my purchase info says when I get around to finding it. I know lots of people have went in to the stealership, even after only 20k miles with complaints, and they say its not covered, so I dunno.

Not till after my Sept '03 purchase of an OZ did the warranty period get extended. Thanks to the marketing guy from Hyandi (spell check) moving over to Mitsu for that one.

I didn't think the paint warranty was that long, but not sure. My friend had a problem 6 months after he bought his and had some problems with the dealership. They were saying he was rubbing the paint off the door sill when he got in and out of the car, but it was faded and not scratched. So they finally paid for the rapainted sills. But if you're trying to get some scratches fixed, that's not under warranty.

NO scratches at all. I have two rust spots on my roof with some slight cracks. So i am not looking to get any niks or anything other stuff done by driving.

be prepared to argue with them, they will claim you drove through acid rain or parked in the California sun too long or under a tree with acidic sap or something. But other than that, as long as it's in the warranty period it should be covered.

dpending on where you live, and if you still have the warranty, they may not honor it. i.e. if you live in the north and constantly drive on salted roads, i would think that would just be considered regular wear on the car. however, you might as well just take it to the dealership and see if you still have the warranty.

My car is less than a year old, paint is chipping/rusting on the trunk and top of the cab. I guess just from sucky paint. Also the paint on the hood and front grill is chipping like crazy from road debris. My Ford with 200,000 miles wasn't even chipped this bad!
I've waxed it when I first got the car and then 2 times since.

yah, touch up paint works awsome if its just small spots. I bought mitsu touch up pen, paint on one end, clearcoat on other. It matched the pheonix red perfect, i was worried about it matching............
