Another paint issue

Just found the other day (why i hadn't noticed it alot earlier i dunno.) that where my trunk meets the bumper its been hitting each other when closing just enough that its wearing the paint away.

I don't have pics right now but will be sure to take some.

This may take a while for a fix as my front bumper took nearly two months to get painted under warranty.

BUT! The best part is on my bumper someone had knicked me somewhere and took some paint off the corner...now all is good

Getting the rep to take pics on weds. but the service manager agrees something is wrong to make it happen, still to figure out if the trunk latches can be adjusted or what will happen. So far he said he's never seen it.

Just curious, everyone could you check your truck lip and where it meets the bumper??

Also, does anyone have to give it a little ooomph to close it? When i lightly close it it won't latch, I have to give it a little slam.

^+1 on that. If i close it gently, I'll get back in my car and it'll start beeping.

its hard to close because of the springs or w/e that pop it up for you when you lift it a bit... at least that's what makes sense to me...

Those are called struts.

The trunk is easy to close if you think about it. The struts don't take effect until the trunk is at a certain height (which is why it doesn't POP open when you hit it). Once you close the trunk past that point, the struts disengage. So you can just click it closed.

unfortunately my trunk doesn't click closed, I have to give it a bit of a "ooomph" and that is what's causing the rubbing...like i said before for everyone:

Just check your trunk lids on the lip... I think I am the only one since the western canada service rep said its the first hes seen...and he does also venture east... wierd. Anyways hopefully the trunk latch adjusts without making a mess.. (bigger gap)

They only have to adjust it another 1/16th or even 32" and it should be fine.

thanks blacksheep ^_^ lol

it seems to be a semi-isolated case (the paint issue) thus far... my trunk/bumper is fine.
