Another paint issue
Got it touched up today, and they gave me the paint pen afterwords (two sided pen blue/clear) Also they washed my car...it was clean anyways.
They also charge me only 30$ for the reprogramming I wanted:
- All doors unlock then touching the handle
- Horn chirps for .1 sec. when pressing the lock button on the FOB only once, not twice (which is default)
- The inside dome light to dim at 15 seconds instead of 30 (default)
Two of the programs were given for free, but the once was charged .3 of an hour...which it probably actually took 1/2 to program all (if the tech new what he was doing.)
The service manager and I asked the tech about the programming and he said he had done the door locks before, but who knows about the rest, anyways 30$?!?! Pfft pocket change.

I don't have any issues with the paint yet.
1500miles on mine, and so far so good.
With all the salt and sand on the roads of Chicago I am amazed with what you are writing here.
Today it's snowing again here, so it will be another week of driving on salty roads.
Hopefully my
got sprayed better

well the trunk was obviously aligned a 1/16 of an inch too close so it rubbed. So the fix is, well align and paint....
I am really happy cause some shmuck made a nice scratch (gouge) in my bumper.

I haven't had had problems with the paint on my car, although there si a kind of large chip on the driver's side front bumper, but it is almost on the bottom of the bumper, so you have to be on your knees to see it.
okay so i have 11,000 miles on my car... most of it was during the winter... and i have no scratches from ice or what not... i have a few on my rear driver door.... but thats because of some *** hole in a parking lot.
hey cam, finally started to get nice weather here so i washed and waxed my car yesterday, checked the trunk and guess what ... same problem here i have a bunch of little chips on the lip of the trunk.
not to mention at a bunch of other places.
( even inside my door frame) i have to go to
soon for oil change and install my rims. il give them heck at the same time.
it really feels like there is no clear coat on this car.

Stone chips & rust
I washed my car yesterday and noticed a bunch of stone chips on my hood and on the side of the car , next to the rear-left wheel. I can even see the grey metal under the paint --> ITS GONNA RUST EVENTUALLY (I have a WW).
I called my local
dealership and they told me stone chips are not covered under warranty
. But that I can understand...kind of
But then today I checked my car again in the sun, and when I looked closely at my trunk, I noticed that there are PLENTY of little RUST "dots"...
I'm going to see my dealer tomorrow for an oil change and they better get my trunk changed/repainted.
Did anyone have the same problem? What did the dealer do/say?
Cheers
Alex

For me they got rid of it on the trunk. They claimed to use a clay bar of some sort. Said it was rail dust from the trains the cars come over on. Not too sure how true that is. They didnt charge me for it though.
Yeah I think it will remove all that crap if I clay bar my car as you guys said.
BUT,
said they will charge me 100$ for that
.
Why? Because apparently they will have to clay bar the whole car. Apparently u can't just clay bar parts of ur car. Is that bullS*hit?
