Havin' some red top battery trouble myself.

The battery won't fit. It'll fit, but the pos. and neg. terminals are towards the south end of the battery (panasonic-stocks being towards the north side of the battery).

I'm havin' some trouble getting the positive terminal on.

When you say 'extending'- how would that be done?

if you have questions about extending the wires use these: http://www.cardomain.com/item/STISCOUP4
Dont forget to put a sleeve over it since the connector will conduct electricity.

Hey, I couldn't help it! It was oppertunity.

I ended up getting a refund for my battery and went with the Diehard route. I could go ricer mode and just paint the top red and slap an APC sticker on it.
