just a quick question seeking for an answer

i did a search but didnt came out with an answer..... how can I tell if i have a leak in my car.... can u tell by just looking at the engine or by the sound??? any help would be appreciated.... thanks in advance

im not that good in engine stuff yet.... so what i mean by leak is GENERAL....

would there be a leak from the engine to the headers??? or from the headers to the dp or catback????

yap.... how can u tell if there's a leak.... can u tell by looking or listening to the idle???

well, if you're asking about an exhaust leak, you would only hear it if you got close to it. You;d have to listen with a tube or scope. And the best way to test for a leak (whether it's exhaust, coolant, or a cavern in the desert) is with smoke. If it comes out where it shouldn't, it's a leak.

If you're talking about an exhaust leak - put you hand close to the piping ( NOT ON IT ) and feel if the exhaust is puffing air onto your hand. Also, it will have a dark spot around the piping if it's leaking ( from the carbon )

Not to be mean on anything and i know your a newbie, but if you have a problem with something and you have already searched...... you need to give us guys a LOT more info on what the problem is in order for us to help you.
