Actually... I'm not too sure it'S working anymore. I know it sees a connection to the Ecu... but according to Auterra Support Team, the PC demo software will not "Connect" to the vehicule. So the codes I've seen so far are most likely demo codes, even though they do look like codes that should be there. Should not, but should be there since they are related to stuff I played with.

 

a-ho-ho-ho my bad. i was looking at the 2 links for demo and full software for the palm pilot(which is what i have). yeah, i can see that the windows demo software is much smaller than the full. hehe, just download the full. the worst that could happen is that it's serial key enabled.

 

Full??? Is there a link I missed? I downloaded the 32.6mb one. How big is the software you're using? Did you buy it straight from Auterra?

 

naw, i have the palm pilot version. not the laptop version. you said demo so i figured you downloaded the demo version. but if you downloaded the 32.6mb version, it should either work or not.

and yeah, i bought it.

if you go to the download page, there's the demo section on top, and the upgrade section a little down below. in the demo section, the palm pilot version file size is the same as both in the demo and the upgrade. the laptop demo is only like ~7mb or so, where the upgrade/user version is 32.6mb. i figure that's where the misunderstanding happened.

 

Well... it looks like I have to face it. That cable pos doesn't work with my Lancer. I'll be sending it back to the saler and it looks like I'll have to pay for the Auterra Pc system. Hopefully the interface provided with the PC system will work with the Pda as well.

are these OBDII interface cable you see on amazon.com for $15-100 essentially the same thing as a Tactrix cable (as in it can be used to flash the ROM), or is this strictly for reading codes only?
