and do you guys know if ralliart controll arms are any better because evo ones wont fit and i think the ralliart ones should fit

so i called the dealership again tonight and they didnt seem to know much so i asked for the service manager whom never seemed to be there before, when i spoke to him he pretended to not know about my car (even though i saw him the night after the break when i went to drop off my keys and lugnut key) and he kinda played dumb with me untill i threatened to go to corporate and then he suddenly remembered and asked "oh are you the guy with all the carbon fiber" and tells me that i shouldnt go to someone at corperate untill he does a history check on my car and sees if it was in an accident...he was really an a$$hole to me, he was super cocky and said he dosent belive my story because i have no proof and for all he knows i could have hit a curb... who drives around with a camera in theyre glove box to take pics of theyre car when it breaks down?? probably nobody...and if that was the case and i did hit the curb how would i move my car to the far left lane with the front right tire dangeling...... the dealership really is trying to weasel theyre way out of it, i think they know theyre wrong....i even called 5 other dealerships and asked if theyve ever had anyone snap a controll arm (one dealership was in california, the other 4 were in wisconsin and chicago) but all of them said no although one in illinois said someones controll arm came loose and made someone wobble and spin out but they have never seen one completely snap....
just thought id give you guys a little update

Cast iron is brittle and in small cross sections is prone to cracking and breaking (faster than honni's arms even). The only places I see cast iron anymore is in the decking of larger tools (bandsaws, lathes, drill presses, etc), in engine blocks and in decorative ironwork pieces that are easier to cast than forge or carve. Because of the very high carbon content (over 2.2%, which makes the piece brittle, especially when shocked thermally) cast will not weld electrically, and last time I checked my control arms had mig or tig welds on them.
not that it's a big deal, but running in there screaming about casting flaws is going to make you look like an artard and will turn the topic away from "what're you gonna do to fix this" to an argument about materials
keep us posted.

If I were you, I'd ask that service rep to explain to me how solid metal parts "go bad" it's not like it's the moving part that broke, the metal just snapped. So yes, I would take the suggestions and inform that lady that you're going to corporate and then a lawyer if they do not have a better solution for you.
Maybe ask them what to do when your gas pedal goes bad too!

yeah, thanks guys...im going to try to call corporate tommorrow but they'll probably be closed (its worth a shot though) ...anyways i asked that same question before urbanknight.....i was like "ok its not like a clutch or tire or something, it just supports the tire...its not something that wears down and goes and the lady said that "controll arms do come and go" and said my front left is going bad as well which is freakin unbeliveable.. thanks for all your help guys and ill be sure to keep you informed
Interresting... Good Luck with the control-arm bro. Fight that ****.
Off subject alittle, but it seem that at 59000miles on my 02 OZ my transmission just went out of me tonight, started popping & slipping(just going down a straight paved road doing about 55, must have used "Drive" too much
). Just got back from towing it to the dealership, we'll see what happens tomarrow.
Anyone else have tranny problems out of their lancer?
