is there a chance for an Auto lancer 2 perform as good as a stick or better

what would i hav 2 get 2 improve performance on my auto,
i already customized an AEM cold air intake into mines but made it into a short-ram,where the cone sits right behind the grill, i`m thinking of customizing a full 3inch exhaust, rrm downpipe, headers, Apexi S-afc boost controller, and lighten the body up a little with a fiberglass kit, would all this power affect the tranny, guys i`m all ears, give some feedback on what u guys think and what i should do, thanx,...........................

Moving to US Lancer general. Definitely doesn't belong in parts review. Unless you're running HEAVY, HEAVY boost I would SERIOUSLY advise against going over 2.5" for your exhaust. You don't need a boost controller with no boost, and you're not going to be able to run heavy boost with an auto tranny unless you beef it up (which will be costly). Over (say) 7 psi and you're going to have problems.

First, consider trying this, I did it and my auto shifts nice and sporty

Secondly a 3in exhaust would bog the car down and kill all your torque. No bigger then 2.5 is the norm for this car. Header and downpipe would bring the biggest gain, someone on the board dynoed his car with rpw headers and gained about 20hp and 20tq. A S-Afc is not necessary unless youre going turbo or doing serious engine mods. Personally where im starting is with new lightweight forged wheels. Reducing unsprung weight is very important to the cars overall performance.

Ditto on the pipe size. Anything more than 2.5" without forced induction will just kill your torque numbers. I doubt you'll need the S-AFC unless you get at least a stage 2 cam gear, or other mods outside of your standard bolt-ons. The RRM upgrade guide goes a long way to show you a good route to take as far as upgrades go, and I'd use that for ideas.

S-AFC will help out with a stage 1 cam too, it's just not required. S-AFC has nothing to do with boost either...Your best bet is to get the auto tranny beefed up by a tranny specialist.

i`m looking for headers at the moment and i wanted 2 know if the headers of a 4g93 fit our 4g94, i had seen a post in the past talking about the mirage 1.8 headers fittin our car and has put some really good #`s on the dyno, good horsepower gain, i`ll get the headers right away if it is tru, it saves money and u get good performance from it, so hit me back with an answers guys, thanx,......

yes the 4G93 headers fit but the down pipe doesn't....jus get headers already made for this car. you'll save yourself a lot of hassle

He specifically said "Apexi S-afc boost controller". For the record, Evil, S-AFC has nothing to do with boost. It's a fuel management piggy back. Apexi's electronic boost controller is the AVC-R I believe. Totally different functions, totally separate units.
