would this be a waste of money?
last night after I got of school the CEL or SES ( why do others call it CEL) came out, I was pissed but then also expecting this thing to come out after I installed my kamikaze headers and downpipe. The most recent mod I did was the Magnaflow high cat which was installed last sunday. Do you guys think that I should go to the mechanic and get the reading for the SES or should I just let it go because its just part of having all the mods in my car?
PS: is it also a good idea to get that recall done after I already change my cat?

With that high flow cat its going to throw a p0420 - rear 02 sensor malfunction. You will need the mech 02 fix or minichip fix to clear that.

Learn to live with it, get the Auterra scan tool and clear it when it comes on, flip the cat, get the mech o2 fix. Those are your options.

Here, I'll explain things in plain English, and very clearly, yet again because people never search.
Your check engine light is coming on because of the header you installed. The stock header has a pre-cat built into it. That is what the second O2 sensor is looking for, that the stock pre-cat is working. Now that cat is not there, so the second O2 sensor is throwing a code.
You can fix it in a few ways.
1. Turn your stock cat around, lengthen the second O2 wires (stock won't reach with cat turned around)
2. Do the mechanical O2 fix, pulls the second O2 sensor out of the exhaust flow a bit, and tricks the O2 into thinking the pre-cat is there
3. Buy an electronic O2 simulator from Summit, Perrin, etc that emulates the second O2.

Thinking about getting a HFC down the road and just want to be sure.
