i have looked, trust me.

I m not lookign for the wiring that goes to the headlights. I m talking about the wire that comes out of the light switch right next to the steering wheel that turns it on and off. I need to find the + wire so I can tap it.

Mike
look for the wire that turns on your parking lights instead of your headlights

at least can someone pinpoint where is the wire that comes out of the left black stick by the steering wheel that turns on/off headlights and turn signals, etc.

haha, oh yeah, that's on my server

according to the diagram, the only thing the switch on the steering column does is supply enough power to the front ecu (basically a bunch of relays in one assembly) and then a relay provides the power to the headlights

page 90-58 in that PDF BigP linked to

yikes! let me try find where it is. A simple pinpoint to what color and location of the wire would just simplify the whole thread.

ok, here's the jist of it. You don't want to power anything off the wire which comes out of the steering column. The circuit is only going to be enough to power the headlight relay in the front ecu. The place to tap into would be pin 6 (for low beams) or pin 2 (for high beams) on the front ecu

looking further into the diagram, it would appear that there is an ecu of sorts for just that switch

and if you wanted it for the parking lights, it is pin 8 on the front ecu

and wow, as I study this more.... The switches are not even controlling the relays, they are actually powering transistors, which in turn are powering the relays, so tapping into the switch side of any of these circuits would not be too good of an idea
