I had to take the oil filter out with chanel locks
That's because from the factory and from the dealer, oil filters are CRANKED onto the oil pan.

Yea.. I had a fun incident the other day when I did my oil change..

I did the previous oil change on my car, and the filter somehow was cranked on really tight.. I must not have realized how tight I made it. But anyways, I was under my car trying to get the filter off.. and it was stuck sooooo tight. It was the K&N filter with the 1/2'' thing on the bottom so you could take it off easy. So, then I got out my 1/2'' socket and tried to loosten it with a 1/2'' drive socket wrench. It would not come off no matter how hard I tried.

After a while, I kept trying, then the stupid weld on the bottom of the oil filter that holds the thing you put the socket onto broke.. haha. I was like %&*()@&#@. Then I got out the channel locks to try to loosen it from there. It just ripped the bottom open even more and oil was draining out everywhere from the filter. So then, I was like screw this.. I'll just do it the ghetto white trash way and stick a screwdriver thru it and twist..

I got out my biggest screwdriver and punctured thru both sides.. Then I went to twist. I twisted it, and the whole oil filter ripped in half so there was only like 1/4 inch left on the car.. LOL. I was like WTF?!?! I was so pissed off.. So pretty much there was no way of getting it off from there. I had to call a flatbed pickup to come get my car and take it to the shop.. I dunno how they got it off at the shop, I think they used some sort of spanner wrench to fit in those little oil filter holes like you see in the top of the filter. The only good thing that turned out of it was they charged me 30 bux.. phew.

Change your filter every time. Makes no sense to let clean oil go through a dirty filter.
