can't launch an auto? man, have i got a supra movie to show YOU.

actually, found the link: clicky

yeah, and that supra launching is an auto

basically yeah, power brake, floor the gas, when you hit yoru stall speed (which is like 2k for us), then let go of brake. just be careful not to do that longer than like 3 seconds or so or else supposedly bad stuff happens. I dunno, I think i read it somewhere

you manual guys will be crying when i up my stall and can launch better than you (and in boost ) hopefully sometime next year

edit: oh yeah, for n00bs, leave it in drive the whole time, if you do a neutral drop, i'll smack you with a pinecone

quite untrue. but understandable cause you don't have an auto

some of the 1g and 2g dsm autos stall at like 4k for awesome launches. i wouldn't go higher than 4k, but a higher stall isn't so good as a daily driver, especially on highway and stuff. thats why 3k is usually a good number for all around (plus its where my powerband really is and when the SDS starts kicking butt)

Right now the 2k stall is pretty pitiful, I just can't get anything going with that, although granted I can take a cava-queer z24 and i4 tibby off the line, but still

also, remember back to physics class, its alot harder to stop something once its moving (inertia, momentum and all) and on the same token, its alot harder to get something going from a standstill. think of pushing your car up a hill with a buddy or something. you gotta stress and strain pretty good to get it started, but once it is, you just push as normal.

ergo, when you powerbrake and floor it, you ain't going anywhere

LOL, strike 2 lancelot

I know it probably wouldn't warrant it, but it would be nice to see a dyno before and after with the pulley, mainly to see if the lower rpm trq and hp are affected as much as twisty says
