good point, also, remember, less rotational mass means less stress on the engine for it to move it, which should mean an increase in mileage.

the only part i'm aware of where this isn't true is the flywheel, something about the heavier stock flywheel having greater momentum (yeah, duh), so you can coast longer and get better mileage.

MPG should be the same if not better. i have been on the gas way too much
i'll try to see if it makes a noticable difference. When i'm cruising it will keep a constant speed with less throttle than before, which should make a difference.

yes but lighter weight would need less power to get up to speed and stay constant

not really, it just means less power to get up to speed, but the weight of the stock flywheel will keep it at speed more efficiently. run a search and you'll see what i'm talking about, but keep in mind the flywheel is a special case, in most other areas (pulleys and whatnot) lighter does equate to better mileage

Of course. The lightweight pulley is one of the first things I did to my Subaru motor.

Too bad I don't still have my Lancer. It was a decent little car.

won't the light weight end up causing problems down the road? it seems like it will be off balance unless you plan on a fully built engine

i see the point of the flywheel, its basic physics, more mass means it takes more to slow it down. if its light weight, yeah, it takes less to get it going, but it slows down quicker becuase of lack of mass. if you compared a stock, more mass, to the lightweight, less mass, both traveling at the same speed, the stock would keep a high revolution rate than the lightweight, once the driving force for flywheel is taken away from both of them at the same time. and i dont see what problems could happen with a lighter crank pulley. i could be thinking to much, but the only thing i could see a problem is the balance issue, but if the pulley has been machined with great skill, RRM skill, then there should be no section that weight more than others. even milligrams can screw up balance. but, i have heard people talk bad about lightweight pulleys, but im thinking its because some one had a poorly machined or manufachured pulley.

Affects of the pulley should be minimal. If you have doubts, then please don't buy one.

Thanks to all that preordered and had some patience. Remeber they all shipped, including more today so just wait a little longer. Happy Turkey Day.
