Im a total newb, but could I suggest getting RRMS CEL eliminator? It's only like $19 plus shipping, and it looks real nice. Supposedly it will work with any header combo.
I don't think this was about the header...the CEL for the header would be totally different and expected. The CEL he got is from the piggy back unit.

One of the guys at RRM said "some guys get it, some don't" and that doesn't really sound right to me, i'm hoping this is gonna be an easy fix.

I saw that CEL thing in the other topic, asked about it but I guess it's not what I'm lookin for, thanx for the help tho.

I am not dissing RRM, but I hate when anyone in the automotive industry gives me THAT kind of an answer. That's part of the reason I decided to be a tech and go to school was so I don't ever have to tell anyone that again.

Your problem could be any number of easy fixes: loose connection, bad ground, ECU won't communicate with piggy back, etc. Before you go nuts, drop your glove box and check to make sure the wires are matched up. I installed a SAFC-II in my buddy's EVO and it had specific colors to solder onto.

I got the same problem with the CEL light with the piggyback ecu but it was also causing more problems like making my car jerk alot so rob is gonna reprogram it for me, but as for the CEL light rrm told me the same thing which is that some 02-03 guys get it and I got it.

i would say a vendor shouldn't post things like that on a concern of another vendors product.

They should put a side effects thing on there web site, you know like on a commerical, "this product may cause sleeplessness, headaches, or internal bleeding." Had i known the light would stay on, i would have thought twice.

Yea, it is just a light, a light that prevents me from knowing when my car really does need something. If it were something else, I wouldn't really care. It's the fact that it's right in my face while I'm driving, makes it look like it's broken, and prevents me from knowing when it is broken.

why don't you get the code pulled and let us know.

Maybe your problem is elsewhere... you don't know till we know the code. If you're not part of the solution you're a part of the problem ya know?

Are you the type of person who also would pull the fuse to get the light to go away? I had a customer who brought their car in and had a CEL. They said it had been on over 3 months. Problem was that they didn't think it was a problem, even though gas mileage had dropped. I pulled the code with our Bimmer scanner and it showed a bad 02. I looked under the car and the entire rear 02 sensor housing was corroded. Because the customer let the light go for so long, the entire housing, sensor, and catalytic converter had to be replaced because the 02 couldn't sensing the raw fuel that was being dumped into it. The bill came out to a lil over $800, all because they ignored the CEL.

Wtf... it's because of people like you I read "Caution: Hot" on my coffee cup

Caution: Posting on message boards might get you flamed.
Caution: Posting problems on a message board requires that you do something about it
Caution: If you don't want to do anything about it, sell it back
Caution: I'm done

Note: This is my opinion and it doesn't mean everbody thinks the same.

Caution: Your coffee is hot, take only small sips and be careful not to burn your thong.

Caution: Modding a car isn't always easy
Caution: Modding a car requires a minimum of common sense
Caution: Modding a car doesn't always work the way we think it should

Welcome to tuning buddy. Tuning is where everything doesn't always go as you think it should. Now stop *****ing and do something about it. Get the code pulled and fix it, or get the piggyback out of your car and stop complaining. If you ain't willing to risk, you've got nothing to do in tuning or in any kind of automotive modification.

As far as I can remember he's not a vendor.
