well obviously if your car is stock, you have a CEL, and your cars running bad, you should have the common sense to get it checked out. if your car is running right and you know what is causing the light you don't have much to worry about.

We should all be checking up on are car twice as much as normal people since our cars are modified.

Just noticed that... thanks for pointing it out. It's funny how he'd be allowed a name like that, and allowed to talk the way he does(reping for acc.), and expect not to be considered THEM.

Guess i should have read the disclaimer

As for this guy and his CEL... he shouldn't post anymore about it till he gets off his can and gets the code pulled.

Getting people flaming on you for issues like this isn't something you'd want. Makes the site no fun. Take the advice, get the code pulled, and then people could help you out.

Why hasent this guy gotten the fricken code pulled? go to any autozone/pep boys/checkers, they do it for FREE!
But they tell you that you need 5 02 sensors...they are idiots.

It's almost like the goose that laid the golden egg, but the goose was dead and the egg wasn't golden.

5 O2 sensors... their idiots. You just need the code read.

Go to digimoto.com if you want. Get their setup for like 100 bucks. Then you can read your own codes when you want as well as see a bunch of other stuff. Check that site out and you'll like for sure.

If you have a palm pilot, you can buy OBDII connectors and software for it. It will read generic codes, nothing manufacturer-specific. I am going to buy it for the free one I was given, it will help me at work.

I ended up fixing my friend's car. He had a CEL on and I pulled a code for the EGR valve. Autozone told him he needed 5 02 sensors. Problem is, the car has 4 sensors, not 5, 1 for each bank and one upstream CAT and one downstream CAT.

I got it pulled, just haven't had a chance all day to get to a computer. My comment about disclaimers was kind of a joke, but either way thats cool. I got it pulled at a Mitsu dealer because I got some recall fixed too. The guy said it was a "random misfiring" and I should check my plugs. He didn't look at it any further then plugging the diagnostic in, but said that in his experience it could be the plugs. After I got the recall fixed the light was off for a while, but it of course came back on.
