Question Intake vs. Exhaust

If any of you had a choice between a new intake system or exhaust system, which would you prefer? Which has the most bang for the buck? Performance? Thanks y'all....this would be for the US OZ Rally.

You'll only get the best possible result by using both....but for starters a full ex system cannot be beaten.....just for the sound!

i have both

i have both sytems and i think that i benefoited more from the intake syte,, which sounds much better but exhaust is always good. Go for the intake if i were you, cheaper, and in my case, more power. But it all depends on the intake and exhaust you get, i got magnaflow exhaust and rmr intake.

intake will probably provide you with a little more power, but we're talking minor gains. Get the exhaust and you will have sound and look, plus a little power.

just getting an intake will make the engine suck...get the exhaust first
with just an intake your sucking all that air in and have no way to push it out

From: houston tx,
at the risk of sounding equally as knowledgable at sucking and pushing, wouldn't adding an exhaust without an intake be trying expelling more air than is available, thus slowing the exhaust flow and actually losing power (less back pressure)? I would say the best first mod is an intake. I sort of think that the order of breathing modifications should go in the direction of the airflow. I might be completely wrong though. Thats just my personal opinion, and it makes sense to me. and thats what matters.

I think at this point we are arguing apples and oranges. The O.Z. makes 120 HP, the power gains are going to so minimal that it doesnt really matter. If you got an intake, headers, high flow cat, and cat back, you may still be only looking at about 20HP total. So I think an intake or exhaust will make such minimal gains that power is not even a question at this point.

My vote goes to the exhaust because you get three things for one product: Looks, sound, and a small amount of power.
