Personally, if I could do everything over... I would have saved the money I sent on Bolt-ons and exterior mods and just saved it to buy a turbo kit w/header and exhaust. You can always add bolt-ons later down the road, but if you keep procrastinating, spending money on throttle bodies, fuel rails, spark plugs, intakes, ect. it's tough to save for the true thing that matters-TURBO.

This is what I would do. It may take some time but every mod on this list is well worth the $$
-RRM stage 1 intercooled turbo
-RRM header
-Magnaflow exhaust
-RRM test pipe
-Egt/boost gauge
-Tein basic coilovers
-sticky rubber
-New rotors and pads
-Turbo timer (not really needed but helps)
-Sway bar w/perches
-Front and rear strut bars
-Short shifter w/new bushings
-Stage 2 components - (emanage or piggyback)
-370 (or higher) injectors
-boost controller
-with the new power, you are going to need some grip-
-Stage 2 clutch
-Lightened Flywheel
-LSD
-From here, you could upgrade the look of you're ride.. Nothing too drastic
-Evo VII ver.4 grill or ralliart grill
-cedia headlights
-Nice seats- maybe some stock evo recaros

Wow!!!!

I think if you really want to influence people you need to add in cost too. The N/A thing although it makes far less power is easier to achieve since you can buy things along the way.

How much is that upgrade path you have described Melaz upon completion?

If you are going to advise people you better tell them how much it is going to cost. Modding cars is a money pit and with the list above you better know what you are getting into when you start down that road.

^The prices of all of the parts are easy to find, labor is what is going to hurt you.

look in my sig. and you will find what has been completed from my list. I never said it was going to be cheap or qucik but if you want to mod a lancer, thats my opinion of modding it right, the first time.

its never going to be cheap to majorly mod any car, but on melazs list, not including looks or installation, close to $10000.

thats the price you gotta pay to play the big dogs. If someone just wants to get basic, practical mods while having great shine, then I would go down a path like this

-RRM short ram intake (mainly for sound and a couple hp)
-Magnaflow catback exhaust (polished tip looks great and does not sound ricey)
-Progress sway bar w/perches(THIS IS A MUST)
-Eibach springs (Nice drop but be prepared to replace shocks after about 15kmiles)
-megan racing shortshifter w.bushings (cheap and tightens shifts up ALOT)
-DIY black housing headlights (Looks really good and very cheap mod)
-Seibion cf hood (Pricey but if you want looks, then this is for you)
-rrm cf tails (Flows with hood)
-Rmr type 1 lip (It's crazy how much a simply front lip can change the look of a car.. just check out imapunkclaimer's ride)
-17in konig heliums ( I wouldnt go anything bigger that 17in and nothing too flashy)
-Forgot about the GRILL- cf evo 7 grill from rrm along with the lip, headlights and hood will make ur front look

well I agree withwhat has been said about 'doing it all over,' and just saving up for turbo. . . that's not always practical either. Sure, I'd love to do that. But do you know how many years it would take some people to save 4g's? then the installation. I mean, when we got our lancer es, we were just happy they were willing to sell us a new car! I have good credit and my wife has none, we're just poor. And if I/we were able to save up 4g's, then there'd inevitably be something better to spend the money on (sodding the yard, painting the house. . .) It's the american dream kids - don't grow up. It sucks.
So, like (I'm guessing) a lot of people, who're just glad to have a lancer period - it's n/a step by step or its N/A (not applicable) turbo just isn't an option for everyone.

^^+1 there. I'm only in college but poor as hell. I'm piecing it all together very slowly. I'd be graduated by the time i got halfway saved up for a turbo. But then again i guess once you get all that N/A bolt-ons done, you could save up then sell off all those bolt-ons except for the exhaust, and see if you can get a turbo then. All you need for decent power from a turbo is a good axelback. Once thats done, then you can start worrying about other bolt-ons, and stuff to run higher PSI

yeah, and I hate to break it to *you*, but I finished college in eight years (hey, I had a bone marrow transplant my junior year. . .) I went to two schools, got a B.A. and 3 A.S.'s . . . Let me tell you, granted I spent the last 9 years working in a very specialized field (exotic animal trainer), but *************I've never had as much money in my life as when I was a college student**********8 between the folks and loans, I've never had it so good since... I'm telling you (just like my old professor did to mee. I wish I listened.... stay in school as long as you can, when you can't stay any longer, become a professor... that's what my sister did. It did take her ten years to get a bachelor's degree (she has the ability to drink copious amts of beer) and then got her masters in 1.5 yrs and now is an adjunct professor. Oh well, I chose a life of cleaning animal $hit for a living, and after spending the last 3.5 years shovelling elephant ****, I said screw it.... now I get paid more to work 1/8 as hard each day. I lost the great tan and muscle tone, but screw it, I sold out and all that matters now is $$$$$
