Thumbs up eBay review!

So, I am a typical 18 year old lancer driver who was looking for a quick, easy, CHEAP way to mod my car and give it a little extra edge. Buying crap for my car isn't as easy when I only make $7.00/hour, and I didn't want to spend over $300, so I looked to my favorite place, eBay. What I found was this:

POST : JDM N1 Style Cat-Back Exhaust 02-06 Lancer (ES,OZ) - $135.88

Upon looking, I doubled back at the price, and thought ok this is probably a typical P.O.S eBay exhaust. Backed by extreme shipping rates, this exhaust totaled to about $240. Now you are probably all thinking, or have already thought, DO NOT BUY THAT! But I did, and it came. To be honest, its everything I wanted, and cheaper (cost wise) than hell. It was an easy install, fit perfectly, and hums nicely without the silencer.

So, I still have $60 left, and knowing my next buy, I checked ebay for a cheap alternative to a Cold Air Intake (not $150-$250) for AEM. I found a random intake set-up for about $24.95 plus ~$15 for shipping. It got here the next day, took 30 minutes to install, 10 of which included going to home depot for screws that didn't come. Everything fully installed, double checked, oil/tranny/break/power steering fluid all changed, I started up and took it for a test drive to see if I notice a change, or a terrible noise for that matter. To my surprise, I felt it right off the bat, and into higher RPMs. I feel pretty successful in my cheap buying experience and just wanted to share that with all the kids who want the sound/performance, and don't want to spend $600-800. Overall, pretty happy with my purchase.

eBay does have some pretty nice CAI ... i know i got one, and painted it red and threw a k&n filter on it ... but i just recently got a RMR short ram intake ... i liked the eBay CAI ... but i was always freaking out when there was water on the floor ... and now without the CAI, i sleep easier ... im gald you like it ...

by the way .. post of pic of your exhaust .. i wanna check that bad boy out ...

well it all depends on how you want to treat your baby, with ebay parts or with name brand?

but as long as your happy, and its not another ebay horror story.

yeah some stuff on ebay turns out ok, you just never know. also on the intake, for a short ram for very cheap, al lyou need is a filter and MAF sensor adaptor. then use your stock throttle body tube and itll sit right behind the battery, but youll have to make something to hold the filter up though or itll sit on the wheel well and rattle. But I think you can get that adaptor on ebay or somewhere for like $19. Would have saved me about $100.

It's very important to take off the air filter that came with the ebay SRI and replace it with an Injen/AEM/K&N Filter. You're running on coffee filters. However, good to hear about the exhaust I'd love a sound clip. The SRI tubing is great, just not the filter that it came with.
