Post Engine prob..

Everytime I accelerate i hear a squeeking noise from the engine or sum place and then when i acceleration some more it goes away....and everytime time the needle gets below 30 mpg...it sqeek...should i be worried or wat should i do.

It could be the dash, the suspension or a real problem. Mine squeaks but its the dash and the suspension. Does it squeak in the rain?

My engine does the same thing under slow acceleration...~30-45mph... But if I give it a little more gas it goes away...

Mine is starting to do the same thing. You might want to check your breaks.

Fox: do you mean brakes? Mine are sqealing now, I think theyre getting stuck against the rotor or sumthin, but my engine still whines/sqeals....

Squeeking - fan belt? That's the traditional answer from US cars... Maybe they've gotten loose over time?

then why dones mine go away as soon as I give it a little more gas?

my belt is squeeling when i first start my car then when i rev it up it goes away. only does it cold. i checked the tension and there is lots i dont knwo why its doing it but it is.

I had this problem when i first got my car last may. i sprayed some belt ease ( something like wd40) on my alternator belt and after a few applications over the course of a few days the sound went away, for good.

Tightens when it spins, I'd assume. Or just moves fast enough to not make the noise.

mine was doing that too, but it stops when I accelerate and when I degrease my engine and spray engine dressing all over. It has to be the belt, but I can't take my car to get that stuff yet until I can get my hood fixed! NC sucks!

yea its the belts. same happens with me at the same speeds so i believe its the belts because i checked the breaks and those are fine. Anyone know when to change ur alternator and power steering belts.
