it doesnt hurt you rig to take it to 5K or so.... red line is red line for a reason. i usualy shift around 4k each time. DRIVE YOUR CARS PEOPLE!

 

There you go. The right answer. If you shift under 3k its a lot smoother too. I have fooled people that were not paying attention into thinking my car was an automatic because they can't feel the gear change.

 

Automatic lancers Shift above redline.... ALL the time

 

Gas mileage isn't really affected that much my how you drive, at least not in an NA lancer. I drive pretty aggressively and I still get over 500 km to a tank, so roughly 29 mpg.

 

auto. shifts at 6.1k everyday, allday. sounds like... waaaaaaaaAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

 

I've, nor has my wife, ever gotten the auto to shift after redline. It's always been at redline or right before. It was fun though...the one time my wife rev'd in neutral and it hit the rev limiter. She thought she'd broke something!

 

mike's old auto lancer over-rev's like crazy. it was rather annoying after a while.
