noob ? about BOV

noob ? about BOV

i have a greddy type-s bov and when im getting in the higher rpms(close to redline) theres like a whistle sound it starts making before i shift. what is that? is it bad or fine? i mean my car drives fine no problems at all its just ive never heard of a bov making noises before shifting..but i am a noob at turbo engines. thanks in advance

sounds like the valve is starting to open up
try tightening it down

now is the bolt for that on top of the BOV? cause i see a nut on the very top. thanks jakeg

ok i just tightened it more, by the way it was already pretty tight...but did a lil run and 1st,2nd,3rd gear were good but redlining 4th it did that lil flutter before i shifted. other than that tightening it pretty much fixed it. thanks again.

you did loosen the nut, then tighten on that rod with the hex key right? just tightening that nut wno't do much for you.

Wow. That guy made this sound very confusing... BOV when shifting? It's when you let off the gas. Im sorry... I just had to make sure.

Are you saying it's fluttering while you are still hard on the gas, or it's doing it as you're letting off the gas?

If it's the latter, you really need to study up on how BOVs work.
