Not kidding at all. I broke in the motor at 3k rpm for a few hundred miles, and I shift at 6k rpm ever since. Obviously I don't shift that high in heavy traffic, but 6k is my usual shift point unless I want to cruise on the highway, I'll shift out of 4th around 5.5k. Mitsu made the cut-off at 6200, meaning it's "safe" to rev up to that. I don'T see why I would shift lower As long as you maintain your car properly you shouldn't run into any issue. The engine still sounds and feel normal.

the powerband on a stock engine pretty much dies at 5.5K, that's where I shift, unless I'm climbing a hill and need that little extra to not drop from the powerband into the next gear

that is a very valid statement

i just feel better my ride if i don't rev it out ALL the time....don't get me wrong; 3rd gear is amazing to take to the rev limiter i geuss it's all a matter of personal preference.
