Need some help please

I have already unscrewed the center cupholder storage cubby. I have taken out the two screws to the center console where the automatic shifter starts. I can't seem to get the two, screw-like clips near the furthest front part of the car on both the passenger and driver side. (they are black in color sort of feel like nails but i'm assuming they are some kind of clip.) I don't want to break them for fear that i wouldn't be able to get it back together. I'm just trying to get to the cigarette lighter to connect some neons. Any help would be awesome!

If you have no idea what i'm talking about the picture shows what i'm trying to take off. I have already searched for this information and could not find adequete info.

sounds like your talking about the side pieces in the front of the console. They each have a visible expansion clip with a phillips head cutout. Use a phillips head to unscrew them till they won't go no more. Then you can pull them out by hand. The pieces then pull out by hand as well... there are clips holding them in but they give when you pull on them without breaking. After you get those pieces off you will see the pop-in type expansion pins that hold the console in place. Take those out from both sides and the front is free. Don't forget there should be a screw under the ashtray holding the console in. Just remove ashtray and you'll see it. Hope this helps and is what you were looking for. Good luck
