new iridium spark plugs

After I installed new iridium spark plugs, I noticed my car idles at about 700 rpms. Is that normal? cause it feels a bit low. Also, on a couple of occasions it has dipped even lower for a second and nearly caused my lancer to stall. Do I need to regap my plugs to a larger or smaller gap?

Mine idles at like 600 RPM if that helps. Not sure why it would dip like that, did you put the AC on?

Copper Plugs > Iridium for the lancer. Save your money. But yes that is normal.

You will find that they will need cleaning/replacing after about 2000km (just a FYI)

Wow only thing I noticed was about 70$ out of my wallet and a slightly better idle, probably caused by the fact I got my oil changed at the same time.

That wasn't an increase in performance, it was your brain hiding the fact that you just wasted money on a useless mod and instead of letting you feel crappy about it, it saved face with yourself and let you think your car was faster. The same goes with spoilers, window tint and exterior lighting.

Don't forget about grounding kits, even though I own one I have no problem admitting it's done diddly squat.

Yea I haven't noticed any performance difference either. They were a waste of money. My rpm's haven't dipped below normal since making this post, so I suppose if there ever was a problem, it fixed itself. From now on though, I'm definitly sticking with copper.

I tend to agree with TMHAMMER.... I just installed my (free - good thing wife works at autozone!) iridium ngk's today. I'm not experiencing any idle problems, although at initial startup I noticed the car idled silently - nice. I haven't driven too much yet, but after my first drive idle seems normal (not silent however). I think there was a teeeny bit of performance gain. I was also thinking I had some smoother shifts and slightly better acceleration.

I installed the NGK Iridium IX's at about 56k, and I noticed a difference. The main change was that I had a lot better response with acceleration.
