National Lancer Forums meet next Jan/Feb.???
1. It would cost a BUTT-load of cash.....it's pretty much out of the question as far as I'm concerned. I don't wanna put judgement on your funds, but even if I had that kinda dough I still wouldn't do it.
2. Why wouldn't you wanna take a nice trip across this great nation. I garauntee you it'll be the trip of a lifetime. Granted, the Evo probably isn't the most comfortable of a car to be taking a long trip on, but still. It would be an amazing experience.
2. I've traveled by car enough. Spent my childhood driving back and forth from Buffalo NY to Toledo OH. Besides this I have no desire to visit Las Vegas anyways.
I don't really care where it would be held. My plan is (when the Evos are released) to fly to Florida, pick up my new Evo and drive it across the States back home. Wherever the meeting will be held I'll plan my trip accordingly to meet up with everyone.
Alright here's what I found.
AZ- Couple good places to do things here... both Tucson an Phoenix have race tracks and drag strips. There's also a lot of driving schools in AZ.
CO- Not a WHOLE bunch here. There's a strip in Denver, but no race track (other than Pikes Peak of course) from what I found. No driving school here either. Co would be nice for taking a few drives through the mountains though.
CA- I think we all know what Cali has to offer....everything and anything. It's just a little far for you East Coasters.
FL- Whole bunch of tracks around the state, but no driving schools from what I've seen.
TX- Tracks all over the place, and there's a couple driving schools in Dallas.
If anyone has anything to add to the pile as far as suggestions for sites, or if you want to add to my pile of info....please do so

Has anyone though of perhaps a Bi-Coastal Lancer Forums meeting? I know it wouldn't be as unifying but it'd be kinda cool knowing that a bunch of other guys are doing the same thing you are 3k miles away.
I'd be down with either. There's tracks everywhere, it's just a matter of finding them and then availability. I know we've got one in Englishtown but I think people would be too busy Jersey bashing to come over here...besides, it's too far to be convenient and too close to make it a fun drive. Regardless, we'll never get EVERYONE's approval so we should just come up with a pretty centralized location and stick with it.
And Brian...that 6 hour drive from NE Jersey to Pittsburg has to be one of the most brain-numbing things I've ever done. I don't have enough explatives for how boring it was feeling like I was driving through the same mountain a dozen times over. ...and at the same time, 6 hours ain't that bad! :P
If anyone can actually get some sort of plan ironed out just post and those who come come, those who don't...don't.

I'm almost certain the best turnout would be if it's held in Las Vegas or Cali... we could get a track like Buttonwillow. LV would probably attract a lot of people since there's something to do at night as well
Or, like pjal said, we could have an east coast meet and a west coast meet. It seems crazy, but I know the NSX club has these meets in FL with great turnouts and the Type-R club had a large meet in CA with a good turnout. A lot of members had a caravan from the east coast down there... pretty crazy, but aren't we all
I vote for Summit Point or VIR if there's an east coast meet... leaning towards VIR cause it rocks!!! :headbng2:
I'll start a poll right now and see what people are most interested in.

Technically we don't know each other, but technically we do....we talk constantly on this board

I know some of the people on some boards better than I know my friends that I see everyday....

I would definitly be willing to meet with everyone. This sounds like a great idea, and it would nice to be able to put a face to the names we chat with on this site. plus we would all be able to talk about our new evos, and shoot the breeze with out fellow lancerforums friends.
Of course when I said willing to meet I mean within reasonable distance/price of the trip. I'm sure that will be true for most people, so I vote for both an east cost meet and a west coast meet. This way we can still get a bunch of people to go, and driving distance will be drastically reduced for most people. I sure hope this can go down.
