Question Cat converter questions

im new here and dont know if this topic has been made, but does the lancer have 2 catalytic, cant i remove 1 ? and do both do the same thing?if i remove it, would it give me more power?

yeah, you can remove one as long as you don't get caught. getting rid of the main cat could yield 5-6 hp. RRM sells a cat delete pipe as well as a high flow cat.

run a search. lot more relevant info in those threads that go more into exhaust.

the first cat is part of the exhaust manifold so you'd have to replace it with a header. some people have just hollowed it out getting rid of the material inside. i have no idea about the performance gain from that.

the 2nd cat is easier to replace.

but i think mine iz cali model becuz it has an extra 1 , its like in the 3/4 of the pipe , do all of them have it?

yup. 1st in the exhaust manifold. 2nd is underneath the car.

he's talkin about the big spot in the exhaust piping thats going from the 2nd cat to the muffler. i think, that's what i got from it.

i think so , but mines from california , isnt it diff emission system ? but now the car is in san antonio tx

well, if it's round, after the 2nd cat, and before the muffler, then it's just a resonator. not a cat.
