I have pretty much every bolt on you can buy, intake, throttle body, intake manifold, header, exhaust, fuel rail and high compression pistons, and let me tell you that honestly if I had the money (probably a few thousand dollars) back now, I wouldn't do it again. My car is faster, but it's not exactly a stallion. The best advice would be to save your money until you decide what you actually want out of the lancer. If you want a fast car, FI is the only way to go. If you want a car that has decent handling, buy a rear sway bar, rims and tires and maybe coilovers. If you want a car that looks good, buy some cosmetic upgrades (not going to give any suggestions since everyone's taste is different). If you want all of the above, your best bet is a new car unless you want to drop 5000$+ into the car.

I still vote RPW. But the OBX look to be a copy of it, so I think that'd be a great choice.

Intake - you can get it. I had one. I really wasn't too impressed with the power it added. Just made a lot of noise... If you want to try it, it's your money.

Damn. So going all out on bolt ons is not worth it??

Does anybody know anything between the OBX headers and RRM? Difference?

YES. Sad but true. Turbo is the only way to make power decently.

RRM header is a crappy shorty header. Not much power.

OBX is a tubular real header. Much better power. Probably twice what you'd get from RRMs.

Nope, at least not to me anymore. With just bolt ons the car just sounds fast, which is really kind of silly.

My plan is to buy my sister's car (a 2003 subaru legacy outback sport) for a daily driver and buy a skyline as my toy to tinker with and such forth.

I look at it this way. The Lancer is my learning car. Im only 20. Im learning what I can outa modding a car and also having a car I enjoy driving. Plus I plan to keep it for the long haul so going all out is worth it to me. In the future I would like a rx-7 or a conquest or a evo/sti. we can still be friends. hehe

Group hug! JK.

mitsuozboi - good idea. I really learned a lot on my Lancer. I ripped that car to **** and rebuilt it over and over. (I didn't get this trade rating for nothing)

At some point, you really have to accept a more basic truth - you're going to want a better car, so it's best to not mod the Lancer and save up for the good car (RX-7, WRX, Evo, whatever interests you).
