Water Leak List Thread!!

Since my previous thread is pretty much dead I wanted to start this one. IF YOU HAVE OR HAVE HAD WATER PROBLEMS IN THE PAST AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE CAUSE WAS OR YOU HAVE A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT THE CAUSE WAS PLEASE LIST IT HERE SO I AND PEOPLE IN THE FUTURE will have a good reference to go by and people will know how to solve thier leaks. THIS seems like a very if not the most common problem I've ever encountered. Please help!

So you started one thread and that ended.

So you figured that starting a new thread would help?

*shakes head*

hey

is it leaking from your trunk into the car cabin? or just in the trunk? if its just the trunk it's probably the rear headlights or the trunk seals.

its just the trunk... its not the tail lights cuz ive pulled those... and water should poor out... if you looked at where the tail lights harness runs from inside the trunk (only hole from inside the trunk to the tail lights)... they whould have to fill up half way with water to get in the trunk itself... and ive been looking all over the seals and i still havent found it yet.

edit: it might get into my interior if i didnt have all of my trunk linning(except wall linning) ripped out.

climb in your trunk and let a friend spray your trunk with a water hose. That way you can find it.

since this is about leaks... I have a leak in my car well atleast I think I do. anyways, I headed down south last week for the Nopi Nationals. The weather was horrible on the expressway but that didn't hold me back. It was wet out and i'm doing about 80 on I-95 South... suddenly my alarm starts to freak out on me. doors lock and open, crazy stuff.

I pull over at a gas station and notice that water was seeping through the fenders and came down into the corner portion where the foot pedal is on the drivers side. It ended up wetting my alarm module and everything in there.. My timb was even wet... lol. Well after everything dried up, it all went back to normal.

does or anyone ever noticed or experienced water leak in this area?

might be a problem with the seals, but i think its probably your doors. take them off and re hang them. they come loose all the time. also...replace your windshield as you're probably loosing cabin pressure which is causing your doors to hang crooked.

wow

WOW this thread has turned into the most hilarious and stupid thread I have ever seen. There's a tsb out for the water leaking out of the trim. if u still have a warranty take to the dealer and tell them there's a tsb (technical service bulleten out for the car.) This was supposed to be a serious thread b/c many ppl have problems with water getting into the lancers. But i guess not.

i was just reading that and I didn't know whether to take your seriously or take it as a joke. Could be a typo on your part but whatever...

windows down, or even cracked? When you go through a carwash you should have them closed all the way... You're going to get water hitting your car from every direction.
