Closing in on 40k miles

Ok so i am getting close to 40k. I know around there i should change my timing belt. But is there anything else that needs to be serviced aswell? Also its about time to get an oil change. What type of oil should i run? Just whatever it takes or synthetic? Does it really matter or is it just my preference?

if you have synthetic stay with it. if not switch to it. Timing belt is more around 70k I thought.

AFAIK i was the first person to do the timing belt on my car, i'm the second owner and i did it at 103k. it did need it by then though... the old one was pretty FGFU. you can change it if you want, but at 40k i don't think you'd need it. the whole process wasn't THAT bad, it's that damn motor mount that really was a pain. it helped that i had someone who knew exactly what they were doing (lanceradam) showing me exactly what needed to be done.

i run 5W30 mobil 1 in my car. getting it free at work helps when it comes to picking synthetic over regular oil.

Does "brake service" include new fluid? Not always...
